Diaporthe Phaseolorum on Pepper Fruits

Mycologia, 1935
In September, 1932, and again in 1933, mature and green fruits of pepper (Capsicum annuum) in a garden in Columbia, Missouri, were attacked by a fungus which causes a black, leathery type of rot extending more rapidly longitudinally than laterally in the tissue, and producing long, rather narrow lesions.

Inheritance of fruit attributes in chilli pepper

Indian Journal of Horticulture, 2019
Capsicum annuum has been known for the amount of variability present in the genus for fruit traits and also for other morphological traits. The present study used F1 and F2 generations developed from diverse parental stocks to report the inheritance pattern for different fruits traits. Our results demonstrate that pepper fruit bearing habit, its colour

CaGLK2 regulates natural variation of chlorophyll content and fruit color in pepper fruit

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 2014
We provide multiple evidences that CaGLK2 underlies a quantitative trait locus controlling natural variation in chlorophyll content and immature fruit color of pepper via modulating chloroplast compartment size. Pepper fruit quality is attributed to a variety of traits, affecting visual appearance, flavor, chemical composition and nutritional value ...

SURVIVAL ANALYSIS OF FLOWER AND FRUIT ABORTION IN SWEET PEPPER

Acta Horticulturae, 2007
In order to obtain a crop growth model that can simulate inter- and intra-plant variation in fruit set, fruit abortion times in sweet pepper were analysed by means of survival analysis. Survival analysis is a statistical technique dealing with the timing of events.

NADP‐dehydrogenases from pepper fruits: effect of maturation

Physiologia Plantarum, 2009
NADPH is an important molecule in the redox balance of the cell. Pepper fruits are the second worldwide consumable vegetables and exhibit different phenotypes after maturation. In this paper, two pepper cultivars were studied: Vergasa whose fruits shift from green to red after maturation, and Biela that shifts to yellow.

Chili Pepper Fruits: Content and Pattern of Capsaicinoids in Single Fruits of Different Ages

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2008
The content of capsaicinoids differs widely in fruits of an individual plant. This is shown for Capsicum annuum var. Cayenne and var. DeArbol and Capsicum frutescens var. Hot Siberian, respectively. Three age groups, (i) very young, (ii) medium age, and (iii) older fruits, were studied.

Chemical studies on the unripe and ripe fruits of Dennettia tripatela (pepper fruit)

Food Chemistry, 1984
Abstract The proximate composition, as well as some mineral, vitamin and anti-nutritional constituents in unripe and ripe fruits of Dennettia tripatela have been investigated. Moisture in the flesh of the fruit varied narrowly, ranging between 81% in the unripe and 82% in the ripe.
