Plant peroxisomes: protein import, dynamics and metabolite transport
Peroxisomes are small organelles that play pivotal roles in a variety of metabolic processes in eukaryotic cells. In plants, peroxisomes are essential for viability and influence growth and development due to their contributions to processes such as ...

The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Peroxisomes and Kidney Damage [PDF]
This work examined (a) how the endotoxic stress affects peroxisomal function and autophagic degradation of peroxisomes-pexophagy, (b) how a superimposed dysfunction of lysosomes and pexophagy modifies responses to lipopolysaccharide, and (c) the ...

IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

Peroxisomes: The extended shuttle to the peroxisome matrix [PDF]
A recent study indicates that protein import into the peroxisomal matrix occurs by a possibly unique mechanism involving the shuttling of cargo receptors into and out of the organelles.

Peroxisome and pexophagy in neurological diseases
Peroxisomes and pexophagy have gained increasing attention in their role within the central nervous system (CNS) in recent years. In this review, we comprehensively discussed the physiological and pathological mechanisms of peroxisomes and pexophagy in ...
