In collegiate endurance athletes, a 6‐week randomized CPYE intervention yielded time‐ and sex‐dependent shifts in field‐based cardiorespiratory, metabolic, and redox indices, accompanied by changes in gut multi‐omics profiles. An exploratory extension during intensified training generates hypotheses warranting future validation.

Resistance Development to Bacteriophages Occurring during Bacteriophage Therapy
Bacteriophage (phage) therapy, i.e., the use of viruses that infect bacteria as antimicrobial agents, is a promising alternative to conventional antibiotics.

Improving phage therapy by evasion of phage resistance mechanisms. [PDF]
Abstract Antibiotic failure is one of the most worrisome threats to global health. Among the new therapeutic efforts that are being explored, the use of bacteriophages (viruses that kill bacteria), also known as ‘phages’, is being extensively studied as a strategy to target bacterial pathogens. However, one of the main drawbacks of phage

A synthetic glycoconjugate vaccine based on a diacetylated Salmonella trisaccharide elicits broadly protective antibodies against four major human pathogenic serovars. Mechanistic studies identify 2,3‐di‐O‐acetylation of rhamnose as a critical determinant of antigen recognition and breadth of protection, establishing a new strategy for broad‐spectrum ...

The impact of phage and phage resistance on microbial community dynamics. [PDF]
Where there are bacteria, there will be bacteriophages. These viruses are known to be important players in shaping the wider microbial community in which they are embedded, with potential implications for human health. On the other hand, bacteria possess a range of distinct immune mechanisms that provide protection against ...

After ischemic stroke, injured neurons transfer circMagi1 to endothelial cells through extracellular vesicles. Within endothelial cells, circMagi1 binds ANXA2 and enhances its engagement with TRIM65, promoting ANXA2 ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation to constrain angiogenic repair.

Stabilizing Functional Nucleic Acids for Real‐Sample Diagnostics
Functional nucleic acids enable programmable real‐sample diagnostics, but often lose function in complex biological matrices. This review highlights four stabilization levers—chemical, topological, architectural, and microenvironment/interface engineering—that preserve aptamer and DNAzyme performance in saliva, serum, urine, and stool, reframing ...

Phage resistance in Vibrio cholerae.
Mukerjee cholera phages are being extensively used in the classification of vibrios. However, the studies reported here show that phage-resistant mutants that are exactly like the parent strains in all characteristics except phage reactions can easily be obtained.

GALK1 acts as a protein kinase beyond the phosphorylation of galactose. GALK1 phosphorylates TIMM13 at Y73 in the cytoplasm. This phosphorylation prevents premature oxidative folding of TIMM13 and ensures its entrance into the intermembrane space of mitochondrion, positively regulating mitochondrial respiration.

Vaccination promotes cellular infiltration into primary lesions and effectively inhibits T. pallidum dissemination to distal organs. Notably, transfer of lesion tissue from immunized animals fails to establish infection in naive recipients, confirming specific protective immunity.
