Myoinositol in Autoimmune Thyroiditis

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2022
Myoinositol (Myo) is an isoform of inositol, a cyclic polyol with 6 hydroxyl groups. Myo is mainly derived from dietary intake while its endogenous production is generated from glucose by enzymatic reactions.

Regulation of autophagy by phosphatidylinositol 3‐phosphate [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 2010
The simple phosphoinositide phosphatidylinositol 3‐phosphate (PI(3)P) has been known to have important functions in endocytic and phagocytic traffic, and to be required for the autophagic pathway. In all of these settings, PI(3)P appears to create platforms that serve to recruit specific effectors for membrane trafficking events.

Membrane Phospholipids and Polyphosphates as Cofactors and Binding Molecules of SERPINA12 (vaspin)

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Visceral adipose tissue derived serine protease inhibitor (vaspin) is a member of the serpin family and has been shown to have beneficial effects on glucose tolerance, insulin stability as well as adipose tissue inflammation, parameters seriously ...

Regulation of CK2 Activity by Phosphatidylinositol Phosphates [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2005
The process of clathrin-coated vesicle (CCV) formation/disassembly involves numerous proteins that act cooperatively. Phosphorylation is an important regulatory mechanism governing protein interactions in CCVs, and many of the core and accessory proteins of the CCV machinery are reversibly phosphorylated in vivo.

Ammonia-induced Calcium Phosphate Nanostructure: A Potential Assay for Studying Osteoporosis and Bone Metastasis [PDF]

open access: yesACS Applied Materials & Interfaces Manuscript ID: am-2021-004953.R2, 2021
Osteoclastic resorption of bone plays a central role in both osteoporosis and bone metastasis. A reliable in vitro assay that simulates osteoclastic resorption in vivo would significantly speed up the process of devel-oping effective therapeutic solutions for those diseases. Here we reported the development of a novel and robust nano-structured calcium

Electrostatic Interaction Between NS1 and Negatively Charged Lipids Contributes to Flavivirus Replication Organelles Formation

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2021
Flavivirus replication occurs in membranous replication compartments, also known as replication organelles (ROs) derived from the host ER membrane. Our previous study showed that the non-structural (NS) protein 1 (NS1) is the essential factor for RO ...

MLKL Compromises Plasma Membrane Integrity by Binding to Phosphatidylinositol Phosphates

open access: yesCell Reports, 2014
Although mixed lineage kinase domain-like (MLKL) protein has emerged as a specific and crucial protein for necroptosis induction, how MLKL transduces the death signal remains poorly understood.

Recent advances in expanding the coverage of the lipidome [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The lipidome comprises a large array of molecules with diverse physicochemical properties. Lipids are structural components of cells, act as a source of energy, and function as signaling mediators.

The p110 delta structure: mechanisms for selectivity and potency of new PI(3)K inhibitors. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Deregulation of the phosphoinositide-3-OH kinase (PI(3)K) pathway has been implicated in numerous pathologies including cancer, diabetes, thrombosis, rheumatoid arthritis and asthma.

An emerging role for PI5P in T cell biology

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2013
Phosphoinositides are critical regulators in cell biology. Phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate, also known as PI(4,5)P2 or PIP2, was the first variety of phosphoinositide to enter in the T cell signaling scene.
