Transcript Identification Using Arrayed Hydrogels With TrapFISH

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
TrapFISH is a novel method for high‐throughput single‐cell transcriptomics. It embeds cells in hyaluronic acid hydrogel beads and uses probe hybridization to quantify custom gene panels. By arraying hydrogels in microfluidic devices, cell barcoding is removed, enhancing scalability for studying cellular heterogeneity and rare cell states by targeting ...

Venus Phosphine: Updates and lessons learned [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
The discovery of phosphine in Venus' atmosphere provides lessons for the search for life. The detection has survived all challenges and has acquired independent support from archival data from PVP. The presence of phosphine in Venus' oxidising environment is perplexing, and comprehensive studies rule out all known abiotic sources.

Hydroxyproline-Derived Pseudoenantiomeric [2.2.1] Bicyclic Phosphines: Asymmetric Synthesis of (+)- and (−)-Pyrrolines

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2014
We have prepared two new diastereoisomeric 2-aza-5-phosphabicyclo[2.2.1]heptanes from naturally occurring trans-4-hydroxy-l-proline in six chemical operations. These syntheses are concise and highly efficient, with straightforward purification.

The oxidation of phosphine [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Containing Papers of a Mathematical and Physical Character, 1930
In a previous paper Hinshelwood and the author described experiments on the oxidation of phosphine at low pressures in which it was shown that there is a limiting pressure below which the rate of reaction is negligibly slow but above which the mixture explodes.

Dinitrogen Complexes of Sulfur-Ligated Iron [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We report a unique class of dinitrogen complexes of iron featuring sulfur donors in the ancillary ligand. The ligands utilized are related to the recently studied tris(phosphino)silyl ligands (2-R_2PC_6H_4)_3Si (R = Ph, iPr) but have one or two phosphine
