Polyaniline as a dual flame retardant and electrostatic dissipative additive in polyethylene nanocomposites

open access: yesJournal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, Volume 31, Issue 2, Page 339-355, March 2025.
Effecft of co‐doping polyaniline with phosphoric acid and phytic acid on the heat release rate of polyethylene. Abstract Polyolefins, such as polyethylene (PE), are highly flammable and electrically insulative, limiting their applicability. The study explored the flame‐retardancy and electrical conductivity of PE/polyaniline (PE/PANI) nanocomposites ...

Iron Physiology and Its Impact on Atopic Diseases: An EAACI Taskforce Report

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Iron is essential for oxygen transport, energy metabolism, and immune regulation. Yet iron deficiency is the most common micronutrient disorder across all age groups, affecting nearly one quarter of the global population. Iron deficiency triggers nutritional immunity, a host defense mechanism that withholds and redistributes iron, contributing

Effect of Fiber and Phytate Source and of Calcium and Phosphorus Level on Phytate Hydrolysis in the Chick

open access: yesPoultry Science, 1984
Broiler chicks were fed a corn-soybean meal diet or a corn-soybean meal diet containing either 15% rice bran, 15% wheat bran, 15% alfalfa meal, 10% cellulose, or 10% cottonseed hulls. All diets contained 3190 kcal/kg of metabolizable energy, 22.8% protein, and either 1.0% calcium and .5% nonphytate phosphorus (Pnp) or .85% calcium and .42% Pnp.

The Evolution in Understanding the Physiological Causes of Dyspnoea in Large Hiatal Herniation: A Narrative Review

open access: yesANZ Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The symptomatology of large hiatus hernia (LHH) has been historically poorly understood, with cardiorespiratory symptoms caused by LHH being underappreciated by clinicians. This study reports on the mechanisms of dyspnoea in LHH through a historical review of symptoms and evolved physiological literature, discussing likely causation.

Reconfiguring biofortification strategies to transform food systems and address micronutrient deficiency of the 21st century

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
This review explores how to make staple foods and horticultural crops more nutritious, including how artificial intelligence‐based screening of gene banks helps deploy nutritionally rich germplasm into breeding. Genome editing can help develop crops richer in minerals, vitamins, and health‐promoting compounds, supporting healthier diets and more ...
