Electrospraying and Nano‐Enabled Edible Films for Food Preservation: Controlled Release, Antimicrobial Function, and Future Horizons

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
This graphical abstract illustrates the integration of electrospraying technology and nano‐enabled edible films as an innovative strategy for food preservation. Electrospraying utilizes a high‐voltage electric field to generate fine droplets from polymer‐bioactive solutions, resulting in the formation of nano‐sized particles and uniform edible film ...

Merging Biocatalysis and Chemocatalysis in Flow: State‐of‐the‐Art and Future Directions for Sustainable Synthesis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 25, 15 June 2026.
This review highlights recent advances in integrating biocatalysis and chemocatalysis in continuous flow to create streamlined, sustainable processes. It examines chemo‐enzymatic cascades combining at least one enzymatic and one chemical step, discusses challenges such as enzyme immobilization, leaching, and reactor clogging, and presents solutions ...

Effects of Nanocellulose on the Physicochemical‐Digestive Characteristics of Corn Starch

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
Hydrogen bonding interacted between CS and NC. NC‐CS complexes exhibited thinner and smoother surfaces. The digestion of NC‐CS complexes decreased due to the increased SDS. The gelatinization temperatures of CS were increased after complexation with NC. ABSTRACT This study investigated the effects of nanocellulose (NC) on the physicochemical properties,

Discovery and Structural Characterization of a Highly Protective Neutralizing Antibody Targeting the Mpox Virus A35R Protein

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
High‐affinity monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) targeting the MPXV EEV protein A35R were rapidly isolated using mRNA‐LNP vaccination and the Beacon single‐cell sorting Optofluidic platform, followed by functional profiling. One mAb, 17H1, potently neutralized authentic MPXV and conferred complete protection in vivo.

Synthesis of Patchy Particles at Phase Boundaries

open access: yesSmall Methods, Volume 10, Issue 13, 8 July 2026.
The various strategies employed for synthesizing complex multifunctional patchy particles are reviewed, with, as a guideline, the type of phase boundary (solid‐gas, liquid‐gas, solid‐liquid, and liquid‐liquid), that serves as the crucial ingredient for symmetry breaking.

Functional food microstructures for macronutrient release and delivery

open access: yes, 2015
There is a need to understand the role of fat, protein and carbohydrate in human health, and also how foods containing and/or structured using these macronutrients can be designed so that they can have a positive impact on health.

In Situ Investigation of Microstructure Evolution and Stress Generation During Low‐Pressure Carburizing and Quenching by Means of Synchrotron X‐Ray Diffraction

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 7, Page 3642-3662, July 2026.
This study uses in situ synchrotron X‐ray diffraction at the German Electron Synchrotron to analyze low‐pressure carburizing (LPC) in steels. The findings reveal surface carbon saturation and carbide formation kinetics, and phase‐specific stress development during quenching. The results show carbide kinetics depend on steel grade and size, while stress
