LncMPEG1/miR-2c regulates exoskeleton biocalcification via engrailed in bivalve

open access: yesAquaculture Reports
LncRNAs and miRNAs has been reported to play important regulation roles in skeleton growth. This research elucidates the molecular interplay between long noncoding RNA LncMPEG1 and miRNA miR-2c in the biocalcification process of shell formation.

Estimation of hemolymph CO2 solubility coefficient for acid-base balance in Pinctada fucata martensii Crassostrea gigas and Mimachlamys nobilis

open access: yes
The influence of temperature on the hemolymph CO2 solubility coefficient (αco2 , µM/L/torr) was investigated in the marine bivalves, akoya pearl oyster Pinctada fucata martensii, Pacific oyster Crassostrea gigas and noble scallop Mimachlamys nobilis ...

Large-scale cryopreservation of Japanese pearl oyster Pinctada fucata martensii sperm

open access: yesNIPPON SUISAN GAKKAISHI, 2007

Histamine-mediated immune regulation in pearl oysters (Pinctada fucata martensii): Insights into regulatory functions and mechanisms

open access: yes
Histamine (HA) serves as a crucial neurotransmitter in both vertebrates and invertebrates, exerting a pivotal role in immune regulation. However, the regulatory functions of HA in mollusks remain largely unexplored.

Molecular characterization of CHST11 and its potential role in nacre formation in pearl oyster Pinctada fucata martensii [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background: C4ST-1 catalyzes the transfer of sulfate groups in the sulfonation of chondroitin during chondroitin sulfate synthesis. Chondroitin sulfate consists of numerous copies of negatively charged sulfonic acid groups that participate in the ...

Hemolymph acid-base balance of Akoya pearl oyster Pinctada fucata martensii with cannulated adductor muscle in normoxic conditions

open access: yes
We collected the hemolymph anaerobically through a cannula inserted into the adductor muscle of Akoya pearl oyster Pinctada fucata martensii submerged in experimental seawater, and examined hemolymph pH, total CO_2 concentration (Tco_2), CO_2 partial ...
