Large-scale cryopreservation of Japanese pearl oyster Pinctada fucata martensii sperm

事業規模での精子大量凍結法を開発するため，容量の異なるストロー（0.25, 1, 2 mL）を用いて凍結したアコヤガイ精子による受精率を比較したところ，有意差は認められなかった。さらに 10 mL の希釈精子を板状に凍結したところ，解凍後の運動率はストロー法と同等であった。運動率が低い精子を凍結・解凍し，通常の 5 分間の媒精時間で人工授精を行うと，受精率は低かったが，媒精時間を延長することにより受精率は上昇し，未凍結の精子と同等となった。本結果から，本種精子を大量凍結保存できる可能性が示された。
