Pluronics are triblock copolymers of poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide)-poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO-PPO-PEO) with wide range of hydrophilic-lipophilic balance. In order to investigate the relationship between the chemical structures of Pluronics and the interfacial properties at the air-water interface by monolayer techniques, Pluronics L61, P65,

Pluronic Block Copolymers for Gene Delivery
2005Amphiphilic block copolymers of poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(propylene oxide) called Pluronic or poloxamer are commercially available pharmaceutical excipients. They recently attracted considerable attention in gene delivery applications. First, they were shown to increase the transfection with adenovirus and lentivirus vectors.

Ionophoric Activity of Pluronic Block Copolymers
Biochemistry, 2004Pluronic block copolymers (triblock copolymers of poly(ethylene oxide) and poly(propylene oxide)) exhibit a chemosensitizing effect on multidrug resistant cell lines. Changes in membrane permeability are hypothesized to be responsible because inhibition of drug transport mediated by both the multidrug-resistance-associated protein and the P ...

Pluronic F127: Application in Arterial Embolization
Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, 2006Pluronic is a substance that is widely used in medical and pharmaceutical fields. In particular, 20% Pluronic F127 solution is a unique substance that is liquid at less than 15 degrees C and gelatinous at 25 to 60 degrees C. In this study, the authors took advantage of the gelation property of Pluronic F127 at human body temperature to simulate ...

Formulation of Benzoporphyrin Derivatives in Pluronics¶
Photochemistry and Photobiology, 2003This study investigates the potential of Pluronics for the formulation of tetrapyrrole-based photosensitizers, with a particular focus on B-ring benzoporphyrin derivatives. The B-ring derivatives have a high tendency to aggregate in aqueous solutions, and this poses a significant formulation problem.

The aim of the study is to synthesize a thiolated Pluronic copolymer, Pluronic-poly (acrylic acid)-cysteine copolymer, to construct a mixed micelle system with the Pluronic-poly (acrylic acid)-cysteine copolymer and Pluronic L121 (PL121) and to evaluate the potential of these mixed micelles as an oral drug delivery system for paclitaxel.

Transdermal timolol delivery from a Pluronic gel
Journal of Controlled Release, 2006In this work, the transdermal timolol (TM) delivery from a Pluronic F127 (PL) gel reservoir was investigated. Both gel concentration and the artificial membrane are used to regulate the TM delivery through pig stratum corneum (SC). At low PL concentrations and for high pore size membranes, the SC mainly controls the TM delivery.

Pluronic® F127-based systemic vaccine delivery systems
Vaccine, 2004We have developed a vaccine delivery system based on the non-ionic block copolymer, Pluronic F127 (F127), combined with selected immunomodulators. F127-based matrices are characterized by a phenomenon known as reverse thermogelation, whereby the formulation undergoes a phase transition from liquid to gel upon reaching physiological temperatures ...
