Lean mice and DIO mice were fed either a low‐fat maintenance diet (MD) or a high‐fat obesogenic diet (OD) during pegylated asparaginase exposure. OD exacerbated asparaginase‐induced weight loss and modestly increased liver triglycerides and ER stress in lean mice.

Abstract BACKGROUND The almond industry requires new strategies to improve almond kernel quality. The use of biostimulants such as potassium silicate (KSi) is an eco‐friendly and non‐polluting alternative. The aim of this work was to investigate the preharvest application of KSi solutions at 2 and 20 mmol L−1 to ‘Peraleja’ almond trees during two ...

ABSTRACT The foliar application of amino acids offers a promising strategy to mitigate multiple abiotic stresses—drought, salinity, heat and heavy metals—by enhancing plant physiological, biochemical and molecular responses. This review synthesises recent advances in understanding how external amino acids function as bio‐stimulants, focusing on ...

Polyamine Catabolism Revisited: Acetylpolyamine Oxidase Plays a Minor Role due to Low Expression
Biogenic polyamines are ubiquitous compounds. Dysregulation of their metabolism is associated with the development of various pathologies, including cancer, hyperproliferative diseases, and infections.

Summary With the intensification of unpredictable flooding events because of global warming, there is a need to understand how root cells perceive and respond to oxygen deprivation. The use of high‐throughput single‐nuclei RNA‐sequencing (snRNA‐Seq) allows the examination of gene expression profiles in discrete cell types.

Effects of Exogenous Sugar Treatment on Enrichment of γ-Aminobutyric Acid in Peanut Sprouts
In order to explore the influence of sugar treatment on the enrichment of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in peanut sprouts, this paper selected the optimal application concentration of different types of exogenous sugars (mannose, sucrose and glucose).

Polyamine oxidase‐mediated killing of African trypanosomes
African trypanosomes, Trypanosoma brucei brucei, T. vivax and T. congolense, were killed when incubated in vitro with ruminant sera in the presence of exogeneous spermidine, and were non‐infective for mice. Purified polyamine oxidase in the presence of spermidine‐mediated similar killing of trypanosomes.
