Overview of Synthesis and Pharmacological Importance of Imidazole‐Based Polyheterocycles

ChemistrySelect
Abstract Imidazole, a privileged heterocyclic scaffold, is widely incorporated into clinically used drugs and natural products due to its ability to engage in hydrogen bonding, π–π stacking, and coordination with metal ions. This review provides a comprehensive overview of imidazole‐based polyheterocycles, emphasizing their synthesis ...

Conducting Polyheterocycle Composites Based on Porous Hosts *

Journal of Electronic Materials, 1992
Conducting composites based on porous substrates (cotton fiber, non-woven polypropylene mat and porous crosslinked polystyrene) have been prepared by a two step imbibition technique. First, the substrate was imbibed with a solution of monomer (pyrrole or bithiophene) in acetonitrile, followed by partial drying.

Thermoplastic polyheterocycles. I: Polyalkylene‐benzoxazoles

Polymer Engineering & Science, 1994
AbstractPolyalkylenebenzoxazoles of high molecular weight (inherent viscosity values from 0.76 to 2.95) were prepared from 4,6‐diaminoresorcinol dihydrochloride and aliphatic diacids in polyphosphoric acid by heating at 180 to 200°C for 3–5 h. Melting points of the polymers ranged from 148 to 423°C, depending on the length of the alkylene chain.

CHAPTER 14. Alternating Polyheterocycles

2013
A series of π-conjugated alternating polymers containing heterocycles are reviewed in this chapter. Heteroles (heterocyclopentadienes) with boron, silicon, germanium, phosphorus, and transition metals are the main focus. In the former part, the characteristics and applications of these polymers are explained, focusing on the optical and electronic ...

Novel alicyclic dianhydrides and polyheterocycles on their basis

Makromolekulare Chemie. Macromolecular Symposia, 1991
AbstractDianhydrides of alicyclic tetracarboxylic acids were synthesized by chemical modification of tri‐cyclodecenetetracarboxylic dianhydride and its chloro‐containing derivatives. By polycondensation of these di‐anhydrides with diamines polyimides were obtained. Thermal and thermooxidative degradation of these polyimides are discussed.

Stability studies of electrically conducting polyheterocycles

Synthetic Metals, 1991
Abstract The stability of the electrical conductivity of two types of polyheterocycles, the poly(3-alkylthiophenes) and polypyrrole, was examined under systematically controlled environmental and thermal conditions. The conductivity stability of the polypyrroles was found to be significantly better than that of the poly(3-alkylthiophenes ...
