Diversity Patterns of Domestic Herbivore Viruses in China Reveal Transmission Dynamics with Disease Management Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 32, 9 June 2026.
This study performs pan‐viromic profiling of 14,529 samples from 5,710 domestic herbivores across five Chinese provinces, establishing the DhCN‐Virome (1,085,360 viral metagenomes). It reveals species/sample‐specific viromic signatures and cross‐species transmission dynamics, aiding unified disease control.

Cytomegalovirus and polyomavirus infection after renal transplantation [PDF]

open access: yesVnitřní lékařství, 2017
Viral infections are among the most common infectious complications affecting transplant recipients. Due to immunosuppressive therapy predominantly affecting cellular immunity and thus successfully reducing the incidence of acute rejection, there is a higher incidence of viral infections.

Avian Polyomavirus: A recent update [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Avian polyomavirus disease is among the most common viral diseases of domesticated exotic birds as such in psittacine families. Caused by avian polyomavirus (APV) which possess a circular, double-stranded DNA which encodes for major structural virus ...

KI and WU Polyomavirus in Respiratory Samples of SARS-CoV-2 Infected Patients

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2021
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) has been declared a global pandemic. Our goal was to determine whether co-infections with respiratory polyomaviruses, such as Karolinska Institutet polyomavirus (KIPyV) and Washington ...

From Data to Decisions: How Machine Learning and Generative Artificial Intelligence Are Redefining Precision Medicine in Kidney Transplantation

open access: yesOrgan Medicine, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 102-118, June 2026.
This review evaluates how machine learning, multimodal integration, and generative AI optimize kidney transplant outcomes. These tools enable superior prediction and personalized therapy but face hurdles in data volume, generalizability, and ethics. Future clinical adoption depends on continued innovation and multidisciplinary collaboration to overcome

SYK Signalling in NLRP3 Inflammasome‐Mediated Response of Murine Microglia Activated by Immune Complexes Formed of Viral Proteins and Specific IgG

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 5, May 2026.
IC‐mediated inflammatory response—the NLRP3 inflammasome activation, cytokine secretion, and antigen presentation depend on SYK signalling pathways in primary murine microglia. ABSTRACT Viral infections might trigger systemic inflammatory responses characterised by inflammasome activation and cytokine release, driven by immune complex (IC) formation ...

Human polyomavirus infection: Cytological and molecular diagnosis [PDF]

open access: yesRevista da Associação Médica Brasileira, 2017
Summary Few studies directly compare urinary cytology with molecular methods for detecting BK and JC polyomaviruses. Reactivation of BKV infection is the main risk factor for the development of nephropathy in immunocompromised individuals. The limitation of the cytological method can be attributed to the stage where the infected cell does not have ...
