Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Hamiltonian potential functions for differential games [PDF]

open access: yesAutomatica, 2009
We introduce the concept of Hamiltonian potential function for noncooperative open-loop differential games with n players, n controls and n states, and characterise a sufficient condition for its existence. We also identify a class of games admitting a Hamiltonian potential and provide appropriate examples pertaining to advertising, industrial ...

Joint strategy fictitious play with inertia for potential games [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We consider multi-player repeated games involving a large number of players with large strategy spaces and enmeshed utility structures. In these ldquolarge-scalerdquo games, players are inherently faced with limitations in both their observational and ...

Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

On the Upper Bound of Near Potential Differential Games

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
This letter presents an extended analysis and a novel upper bound of the subclass of Linear Quadratic Near Potential Differential Games (LQ NPDG). LQ NPDGs are a subclass of potential differential games, for which there is a distance between an LQ exact ...

Playing at the school table: Systematic literature review of board, tabletop, and other analog game-based learning approaches

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2023
The unique characteristics of games have led scientific research to increasingly focus on their potential role in learning processes. Currently, their effectiveness in fostering experiential learning and skill acquisition in several areas is already ...

Symmetric Strategy Improvement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Symmetry is inherent in the definition of most of the two-player zero-sum games, including parity, mean-payoff, and discounted-payoff games. It is therefore quite surprising that no symmetric analysis techniques for these games exist.

Cognitive Status in People With Epilepsy in the Republic of Guinea: A Prospective, Case–Control Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective People with epilepsy (PWE) may experience cognitive deficits but fail to undergo formal evaluation. This study compares cognitive status between PWE and healthy controls in the West African Republic of Guinea. Methods A cross‐sectional, case–control study was conducted in sequential recruitment phases (July 2024–July 2025) at Ignace ...

Educational games for brain health: revealing their unexplored potential through a neurocognitive approach

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2015
Educational games link the motivational nature of games with learning of knowledge and skills. Here, we go beyond effects on these learning outcomes. We review two lines of evidence which indicate the currently unexplored potential of educational games ...

DISCRETE CONCAVITY FOR POTENTIAL GAMES [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Game Theory Review, 2008
This paper proposes a discrete analogue of concavity appropriate for potential games with discrete strategy sets. It guarantees that every Nash equilibrium maximizes a potential function.
