ABSTRACT Exposure to mono(2‐ethylhexyl) phthalate (MEHP) during pregnancy has been associated with adverse pregnancy and birth outcomes characterized by extravillous trophoblast (EVT) abnormal function. Previous reports have suggested that MEHP can activate the PI3K/AKT pathway in EVT cells, a pathway known to regulate inflammation and angiogenesis in ...

Blubber Thickening Driven by UCP1 Inactivation: Insights from a Cetacean‐Like Transgenic Mouse Model
UCP1 inactivation of cetaceans in mice drives BAT whitening and iWAT hyperplasia, promoting fat accumulation for aquatic adaptation. Abstract Cetaceans possess thick blubber, a specialized adipose tissue essential for thermal insulation, a streamlined body form, energy storage, and buoyancy. However, the mechanisms that underpin this adaptation are not

We aimed to report the existence and profile of group 9 innate lymphoid cells (ILC9s). Overall, ILC9 proportions in AR patients show differences compared to healthy subjects and responder SCIT patients. IL‐9 expression decreases after siRNA inhibition of Bach2 suggesting Bach2 could display as a transcription factor of ILC9.

Infection control in the brain and the eye
Abstract The Central Nervous System (CNS), comprising the brain and the eye, is considered to have a ‘privileged’ mechanism for dealing with immunological challenge (immune privilege, IP). CNS IP has been revealed through experiments using foreign protein antigens and cell and tissue alloantigens (grafts), but evidence for a role for IP in modulating ...
