Determination of PQQ in quinoproteins with covalently bound cofactor and in PQQ‐derivatives [PDF]
Application of the so‐called hexanol extraction procedure for PQQ determination, originally based on detachment of the cofactor from quinoproteins and conversion into PQQ‐5,5‐dihexyl ketal, leads in several cases to a number of products due to uncontrollable esterification.

Development of an Engineered Bacterial Endophyte: Promoting Plant Growth Through Pyrroloquinoline Quinone (PQQ) Synthesis [PDF]
Endophytic bacteria are a group of microorganisms that can intercellularly colonize plant hosts without causing apparent damage or disease. Our previous works found that a pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ)-producing endophyte could promote plant growth and ...

Endophytic Biostimulant Pyrroloquinoline Quinone Enhances Banana Growth and Primes Immunity Against Fusarium Wilt. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) is a redox cofactor derived from prokaryotes that participates in various biological processes involving dehydrogenase enzymes. Previous field trials identified a PQQ‐producing endophyte, Burkholderia seminalis 869T2, which enhances banana growth and reduces Fusarium wilt incidence from 24.5% to 3.4%.

Environmental Enrofloxacin Exposure as a Modifiable Driver of Mitochondria-Mediated Intestinal Aging and Barrier Dysfunction. [PDF]
Environmentally relevant enrofloxacin accelerates intestinal aging by impairing epithelial mitochondrial function, disrupting barrier integrity, and reshaping the gut microbiota. Mitochondrial restoration with pyrroloquinoline quinone alleviates hypoxia, inflammation, and gut damage.

Altering pyrroloquinoline quinone nutritional status modulates mitochondrial, lipid, and energy metabolism in rats. [PDF]
We have reported that pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) improves reproduction, neonatal development, and mitochondrial function in animals by mechanisms that involve mitochondrial related cell signaling pathways.

Discovery of a eukaryotic pyrroloquinoline quinone-dependent oxidoreductase belonging to a new auxiliary activity family in the database of carbohydrate-active enzymes. [PDF]
Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) is a redox cofactor utilized by a number of prokaryotic dehydrogenases. Not all prokaryotic organisms are capable of synthesizing PQQ, even though it plays important roles in the growth and development of many organisms ...
