Relationship between PPAR‐γ gene polymorphisms and ischemic stroke risk: A meta‐analysis
Ischemic strokes (IS) are one of the most common diseases resulting in disabilities and death among adults. Our meta‐analysis indicated that the individuals with G mutation of rs1801282 C/G polymorphism would face an increased risk of IS. But there was no significant association between rs3856806 C/T polymorphism and IS risk.

Targeting the EZH2‐PPAR Axis Is a Potential Therapeutic Pathway for Pancreatic Cancer
Enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) is abnormally highly expressed in pancreatic cancer (PC). However, it is not ideal to treat PC by inhibiting EZH2. This study reported that the combined use of pan‐peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor (PPAR) agonist could significantly improve the anti‐PC effect of EZH2 inhibitor.

The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship of the polymorphism in Intron 7 G/C (rs 4253778) of the peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor alpha (PPARα) gene with the magnitude of changes in the body composition of an overweight and obese population that underwent an aerobic training program.

PPAR-γ Pro12Ala genotype and risk of cognitive decline in elders [PDF]
The Pro12Ala polymorphism of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPAR-gamma) has been associated with decreased risk of diabetes and obesity, both disorders linked to cognitive impairment. We tested whether this polymorphism is associated with cognition. Two thousand nine hundred sixty-one participants (mean age, 74.1; 41% Black; 52% women)

The PPARγ2 P12A polymorphism is not associated with all-cause mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus [PDF]
The high mortality risk of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus may well be explained by the several comorbidities and/or complications. Also the intrinsic genetic component predisposing to diabetes might have a role in shaping the risk of diabetes ...

A Possible Role for the PPARG Pro12Ala Polymorphism in Preterm Birth [PDF]
The links between preterm birth, low birth weight, and adult vascular/metabolic morbidity remain unclear. Genetic susceptibility of babies related to these three conditions might contribute to this long-term association. We tested whether the Pro12Ala polymorphism of the peroxisome proliferator–activated receptor γ (PPARG) gene could play a role in ...

The Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPARγ) is a member of the nuclear receptor family of transcription factors. In addition to its role in lipid and glucose metabolisms, PPARγ has possible roles in tumor suppression.

Pharmacogenetics of type 2 diabetes mellitus, the route toward tailored medicine [PDF]
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease that has reached the levels of a global epidemic. In order to achieve optimal glucose control, it is often necessary to rely on combination therapy of multiple drugs or insulin because uncontrolled ...

FABP-2 and PPAR-γ Haplotype as Risk Factors for Dyslipidemia in a Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Population of Santa Rosa del Conlara, San Luis, Argentina [PDF]
Introduction: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a complex disorder caused by the interaction between genetic predisposition and environmental factors. Genetics plays an important role on lipid homeostasis. Many genes are involved in the lipid metabolism,
