Blood Purine Derivatives in Migraine
In an effort to uncover any possible abnormality in purine metabolism, the blood of 12 patients who suffer from migraine headaches was analyzed for adenine nucleotide nitrogen, purine nitrogen, and uric acid.Methods for the determination of these substances in blood have, in the past, been unreliable.

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.
