Active Target Defense Differential Game with a Fast Defender

open access: yes, 2015
This paper addresses the active target defense differential game where an Attacker missile pursues a Target aircraft. A Defender missile is fired by the Target's wingman in order to intercept the Attacker before it reaches the aircraft.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

A Multi-Stage Optimization Approach for Satellite Orbit Pursuit–Evasion Games Based on a Coevolutionary Mechanism

open access: yesRemote Sensing
For the satellite orbit pursuit–evasion game problem, this paper proposes a multi-stage optimization-based solution aimed at improving the confrontation strategies between task satellites and target satellites in complex space environments.

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

Targeting p38α in cancer: challenges, opportunities, and emerging strategies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
p38α normally regulates cellular stress responses and homeostasis and suppresses malignant transformation. In cancer, however, p38α is co‐opted to drive context‐dependent proliferation and dissemination. p38α also supports key functions in cells of the tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts, myeloid cells, and T lymphocytes.

Pursuit-Evasion in Minimal Time with Varying Observation Constraints

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Sciences and Modelling
Optimal control problems under incomplete information, particularly in pursuit-evasion scenarios, present significant mathematical challenges. This study extends a basic time-optimal pursuit-evasion game by introducing a time-dependent observer parameter,

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Complementarity-based reformulation and numerical method for solving pursuit-evasion differential games

open access: yesSICE Journal of Control, Measurement, and System Integration
Pursuit-evasion differential games are challenging to solve both analytically and numerically, particularly as the problem dimensionality increases. These games involve bounded control inputs for each player, reflecting the limitations commonly present ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Collaborative Control of UAV Swarms for Target Capture Based on Intelligent Control Theory

open access: yesMathematics
Real-time dynamic capture of a single moving target is one of the most crucial and representative tasks in UAV capture problems. This paper proposes a multi-UAV real-time dynamic capture strategy based on a differential game model to address this ...
