Organometallic catalysis for applications in radical chemistry and asymmetric synthesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Two organometallic catalysis studies are presented. The first one deals with the development of a new catalytic agent based on the mixture of a hydride and an iron salt to trigger efficient radical cyclization processes.

Synthesis of 2-Aryl-5-Nitropyridines by Three-Component Ring Transformation of 3,5-Dinitro-2-Pyridone [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
2-Arylated-5-nitropyridines were efficiently synthesized by a three-component ring transformation of 3,5-dinitro-2-pyridone with aromatic ketones in the presence of ammonium acetate, in which the dinitropyridone serves as a synthetic equivalent of an ...

Aldol elaboration of 4,5,6,7-tetrahydroisoxazolo[4,3-c]pyridin-4-ones, masked precursors to acylpyridones

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2012
A core 4,5,6,7-tetrahydroisoxazolo[4,3-c]pyridine-4-one scaffold is elaborated at C-3(Me) by base-mediated aldol condensation to give new 3-alkenyl-4,5,6,7-tetrahydroisoxazolo[4,3-c]pyridine-4-ones, which are masked forms related to the acylpyridone ...

Transacylierungen mit Acylderivaten des 4‐Pyridons [PDF]

open access: yesChemische Berichte, 1980

Photochemistry of Aromatic N‐Oxides in Water Probed by Time‐Resolved X‐ray Absorption Spectroscopy

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved XAS at the nitrogen and oxygen K‐edges is applied to the photorearrangement of two N‐oxides in water. Pyridine N‐oxide rapidly forms the oxaziridine isomer. Pyridazine N‐oxide undergoes ring opening to the diazo compound, without any evidence of intermediates.

Copper‐ and Silver‐Catalyzed Reactions of Active Methylene Isocyanides: Facile Access to Highly Substituted Five‐ and Six‐Membered Heterocycles

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
This review summarizes recent advances in copper‐ and silver‐catalyzed reactions of active methylene isocyanides for the synthesis of highly substituted five‐ and six‐membered heterocycles. Emphasis is placed on [3+n] cycloadditions, annulations, and asymmetric strategies, highlighting current limitations and future opportunities in heterocycle ...

Electrochemical behaviour of activated carbons obtained via hydrothermal carbonization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Activated carbons were prepared by chemical activation of hydrochars, obtained by hydrothermal carbonisation (HTC) using low cost and abundant precursors such as rye straw and cellulose, with KOH.

Profiling of HCAR1 signalling reveals Gαi/o and Gαs activation without β‐arrestin recruitment and the discovery of an allosteric agonist

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose Lactate, historically viewed as a metabolic by‐product, has emerged as a signalling molecule via the G protein–coupled receptor Hydroxycarboxylic Acid Receptor 1 (HCAR1). The receptor is primarily expressed in adipocytes but also found in various other tissues.
