This study evaluated the functional potential of Ulva lactuca extract as a natural colorant and antioxidant incorporated into sugar‐based (fondant) and aerated (meringue) confectionery matrices. Extract incorporation significantly enriched total phenolic content—achieving up to 150.95 mg GAE/100 g dry matter in meringues—and surged antioxidant ...

Spectrophotometric Determination of Iron with Pyrogallol
There are many organic reagents for colorimetric analysis of iron. In case of the determination of Cb by the coloration with pyrogallol, it is disturbed by the presence as the iron forms a purple complex salt, and this iron-pyrogallol complex salt is applied for the spectrophotometric analysis.

In HepG2 cells, Aroclor 1254 induced oxidative stress, DNA damage, apoptosis, and mutagenicity; co‐treatment with curcumin restored antioxidant defenses (GSH/thiols; SOD, CAT, GPx, GR, TrxR), reduced ROS and comet/8‐OHdG readouts, and attenuated caspase activation, demonstrating curcumin's hepatoprotective and genoprotective modulation of PCB toxicity.

ABSTRACT Plant‐based antioxidants are widely incorporated into foods to retard oxidative deterioration and to deliver health‐related benefits. Yet, their in‐product and in vivo performance frequently diverges from predictions based on solution‐phase chemical assays, because matrix interactions, processing history, and host metabolism reshape both ...
