Diastereoselective Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Spiro[chromane-2,4′-pyrimidin]-2′(3′H)-ones as Novel Antimicrobial and Antioxidant Agents

open access: yesMolecules
This study reports an improved diastereoselective synthesis of substituted spiro[chromane-2,4′-pyrimidin]-2′(3′H)-ones via the acid-catalyzed condensation of 6-styryl-4-aryldihydropyrimidin-2-ones with resorcinol, 2-methylresorcinol, and pyrogallol.

Redox‐Mediated Amination of Pyrogallol‐Based Polyphenols

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal
AbstractFlavonoids are known to covalently modify amyloidogenic peptides by amination reactions. The underlying coupling process between polyphenols and N‐nucleophiles is assessed by several in vitro and in silico approaches. The coupling reaction involves a sequence of oxidative dearomatization, amination, and reductive amination (ODARA) reaction ...

Obtention of a Sensitive Acylated Pyrogallol[4]arene-Based Sensor for the Detection of Carnitine: A Spectroscopic and DRX Study

open access: yesAnalytica
Complexation between carnitine and acetylated or benzylated pyrogallol[4]arenes was studied in DMSO via dynamic NMR, UV-vis spectroscopy, and in the gas phase via electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS).

Pyrogallol acts as a novel anticancer factor to enhance the sensitivity to cisplatin in ovarian cancer cells through inducing miR-15a upregulation

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Medical Human Genetics
Introduction Pyrogallol is a catechin compound, as an active ingredient extracted from Emblica officinalis, has antiproliferative and antiapoptotic effects on some of the human cancer cells.
