Biomarkers in QuantiFERON Supernatants May Help Distinguish Latent Tuberculosis Infection From Active Tuberculosis: Preliminary Report

open access: yesMediators of Inflammation, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Background Latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) is an important public health problem and a major source of future active tuberculosis (ATB) cases. In this preliminary study, we sought to identify host biomarkers that could potential differentiate between LTBI and ATB. Methods A total of 145 plasma samples obtained from antigen tubes of the QuantiFERON‐

Diagnostic accuracy and predictive value of the QuantiFERON-TB gold plus assay for tuberculosis in immunocompromised individuals: a prospective TBnet study

open access: yesThe Lancet Regional Health - Europe
Summary Background In low tuberculosis (TB)-endemic countries, tuberculosis preventive therapy (TPT) is recommended for immunocompromised individuals with a positive immunodiagnostic test.

A Superalgebra Within: Representations of Lightest Standard Model Particles Form a Z25$\mathbb {Z}_2^5$‐Graded Algebra

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 537, Issue 12, December 2025.
A set of particle representations, familiar from the Standard Model, collectively form a superalgebra. Those representations mirroring the behaviour of the Standard Model's gauge bosons, and three generations of fermions, are each included in this algebra, with exception only to those representations involving the top quark.

Predicting Flow in Fracture Networks With Quantum Algorithms

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 61, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Uncertainty quantification plays a crucial role in the modeling of subsurface flow. For instance, uncertainties in the properties of geologic fracture networks significantly impact flow, requiring numerous simulations to accurately estimate quantities of interest.

W‐algebras, Gaussian free fields, and g$\mathfrak {g}$‐Dotsenko–Fateev integrals

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 131, Issue 6, December 2025.
Abstract Based on the intrinsic connection between Gaussian free fields and the Heisenberg vertex algebra, we study some aspects of the correspondence between probability theory and W$W$‐algebras. This is first achieved by providing a construction of the W$W$‐algebra associated to a complex simple Lie algebra g$\mathfrak {g}$ by means of Gaussian free ...

Quantum‐Inspired Fourier Transforms Based on Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 42, November 13, 2025.
An analog scheme of classical circuit for the quantum Fourier transform is proposed. The number of the basic computing components employed in the circuit design is consistent with the number of the quantum gate in the quantum circuit. The information is encoded using correlated electrical signals.

A Case of Advanced Urothelial Carcinoma Requiring Treatment Following a Positive Interferon‐Gamma Release Assay Prior to Avelumab Administration

open access: yesIJU Case Reports, Volume 8, Issue 5, Page 454-457, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction The association between the risk of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) reactivation and immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) administration has been reported. Case Presentation A man in his seventies underwent robot‐assisted laparoscopic radical cystectomy with ileal conduit diversion for muscle‐invasive bladder cancer. Three years

Assessing the effects of diabetes mellitus on the monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio and the QuantiFERON-TB gold plus assays for tuberculosis treatment monitoring: a prospective cohort study

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is an important risk factor for the development of active tuberculosis (TB). QuantiFERON-TB Gold Plus (QFT-P), white blood cell count (WBC) assays and monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) reflect the inflammatory reactions associated

Global and microlocal aspects of Dirac operators: Propagators and Hadamard states

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, Volume 298, Issue 9, Page 2942-2974, September 2025.
Abstract We propose a geometric approach to construct the Cauchy evolution operator for the Lorentzian Dirac operator on Cauchy‐compact globally hyperbolic 4‐manifolds. We realize the Cauchy evolution operator as the sum of two invariantly defined oscillatory integrals—the positive and negative Dirac propagators—global in space and in time, with ...
