Cancer Stem Cells and Radioresistance: Rho/ROCK Pathway Plea Attention

open access: yes, 2016
Radiation is the most potent mode of cancer therapy; however, resistance to radiation therapy results in tumor relapse and subsequent fatality. The cancer stem cell (CSC), which has better DNA repair capability, has been shown to contribute to tumor ...

Nimotuzumab Combined With Chemoradiotherapy in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, EarlyView.
This meta‐analysis of 18 studies (3962 patients) demonstrates that nimotuzumab combined with chemoradiotherapy significantly improves overall survival and progression‐free survival in locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, without increasing severe toxicity.

Apoptotic cell-derived extracellular vesicles-MTA1 confer radioresistance in cervical cancer by inducing cellular dormancy

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine
Background Radioresistance presents a major challenge in the treatment of cervical cancer (CC). Apoptotic tumor cells can create an “onco-regenerative niche,” contributing to radioresistance.

SERPINE1 Alternative Polyadenylation Influences Gastric Cancer Prognosis via N6‐Methyladenosine Modification

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐omics integration of the transcriptomic APA landscape and m6A modifications identifies key prognostic genes. Their biological functions and molecular mechanisms in promoting tumor progression are comprehensively validated through in vitro assays. ABSTRACT Alternative polyadenylation (APA) and N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) methylation are critical post‐

miR-135b contributes to radioresistance in U87 cells.

open access: yes, 2014
(A) miR-135b expression increases in U87R cells, compared to U87 cells. (B and C) miR-135b expression was modulated using miR-135b inhibitor or mimics respectively.

Jumonji Inhibitors Overcome Radioresistance in Cancer through Changes in H3K4 Methylation at Double-Strand Breaks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Summary: We have uncovered a role for Jumonji inhibitors in overcoming radioresistance through KDM5B inhibition. Pharmacological blockade of Jumonji demethylases with JIB-04 leads to specific accumulation of H3K4me3 at sites marked by γH2AX and impaired ...

FHL2 enhances ITGB1-mediated ECM remodeling and cellular stiffness to promote radioresistance in non-small cell lung cancer

open access: yesCell Death Discovery
Radiotherapy is a cornerstone treatment for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but its efficacy is frequently limited by tumor-intrinsic radioresistance.
