Changes in PGE2 signaling after submandibulectomy alter post–tooth extraction socket healing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Saliva is very important to oral health, and a salivary deficit has been shown to bring serious problems to oral health. There is scant information about the mechanisms through which salivary glands participate in post–tooth extraction socket healing ...

ZMAT1 Promotes Osteoclastogenesis Through TRIM46 Mediated YAP1 Degradation and Inhibits Osteoblastogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zmat1 deficiency mitigates pathological bone loss by impairing osteoclastogenesis and promoting osteoblastogenesis. Mechanistically, in osteoclasts, Zmat1 loss relieves transcriptional repression of the E3 ligase TRIM46, promoting YAP1 degradation and inhibiting osteoclastogenic genes.

Immunomodulatory effects of curcumin on receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappa B ligand in periodontitis

open access: yesMediterranean Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the tooth-supporting structures, often causing alveolar bone loss due to increased osteoclast activity mediated by receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappa B ligand.

Identification of marker proteins in preterm and term birth: Relationship of rankl and HSP70 in the cord blood

open access: yesMedicine Science, 2022
The goal of this research was to investigate at the expression profiles of heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) and receptor activator of nuclear factor-kappa B ligand (RANKL) in term and preterm infants.

Towards a New Spatial Representation of Bone Remodeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Irregular bone remodeling is associated with a number of bone diseases such as osteoporosis and multiple myeloma. Computational and mathematical modeling can aid in therapy and treatment as well as understanding fundamental biology.

Alzheimer's Disease Risk Factor APOE4 Exerts Dimorphic Effects on Female Bone

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In aging bone, osteocytes accumulate neurodegenerative risk factor Apolipoprotein E (APOE). A humanized version of the Alzheimer's disease risk allele APOE4 altered the mouse bone transcriptome and proteome, with effects in female bone surpassing the brain, including bone fragility due to suppressed osteocytic maintenance of bone quality, identifying ...

EFFECT OF GOLIMUMAB ON IMMUNOLOGICAL MARKERS FOR BONE METABOLISM AND ON ARTERIAL STIFFNESS IN PATIENTS WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

open access: yesНаучно-практическая ревматология, 2018
Objective: to evaluate the effect of golimumab (GLM) on the receptor activator of NF-κB ligand (RANKL)/osteoprotegerin (OPG) transmembrane molecular system and arterial stiffness in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Subjects and methods. Thirty-six

Assessment of Salivary Levels of the RANKL and RANK in Patients with Healthy Gingiva on Reduced Periodontium Versus Periodontitis: An Analytical Cross-Sectional Study

open access: yesDental Hypotheses, 2023
Introduction: We aimed to compare the changes in the two salivary biomarkers, RANKL and RANK, among patients with healthy gingiva on reduced periodontium versus generalized periodontitis stages II and III.
