Prioritising research on endocrine disruption in the marine environment: a global perspective

open access: yesBiological Reviews, Volume 101, Issue 2, Page 848-868, April 2026.
ABSTRACT A healthy ocean is a crucial life support system that regulates the global climate, is a source of oxygen and supports major economic activities. A vast and understudied biodiversity from micro‐ to macro‐organisms is integral to ocean health.

Attempts to Achieve Targeted Covalent Inhibition of Hsp90β

open access: yesChemical Biology &Drug Design, Volume 107, Issue 4, April 2026.
Electrophilic warheads were incorporated into Hsp90β‐selective inhibitors to covalently modify Lys58, which occupies the solvent‐exposed region of the binding pocket. Although many inhibitors display nanomolar affinity towards Hsp90β over a 24‐h period, analyses to determine covalent bond formation with this residue were inconclusive.

Hypoxia regulates Th17/Treg balance by altering chromatin accessibility and gene expression

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 293, Issue 8, Page 2393-2416, April 2026.
T‐cell differentiation into Th17 or iTreg cells is key to inflammation control. Integrated RNA‐seq and ATAC‐seq analyses reveal that hypoxia induces more extensive gene expression changes in iTreg cells. Elevated levels of Hif1a and Stat3, along with increased accessibility to key transcription factor motifs, may predispose these cells toward ...

Tryptophan‐Derived Microbial Metabolite Indole‐3‐Acetic Acid Ameliorates Periodontitis Through AhR/CYP1A1‐Mediated Macrophage Polarisation

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Periodontology, Volume 53, Issue 4, Page 644-655, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To investigate the association between tryptophan‐derived microbial metabolites and periodontitis, and to assess whether the differential tryptophan metabolite indole‐3‐acetic acid (IAA) could ameliorate periodontitis and elucidate its potential mechanism.

Impact of PAR2 on Tight Junctions and Esophageal Mucosal Inflammation in Rats with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

open access: yesNeurogastroenterology &Motility, Volume 38, Issue 4, April 2026.
In GERD, elevated PAR2 expression impaired esophageal mucosal barrier function by downregulating and inducing the redistribution of Claudin‐1 and Claudin‐4, while promoting M1 macrophage‐mediated secretion of IL‐8 and IL‐1β. ABSTRACT Background Gastric content reflux activates protease‐activated receptor 2 (PAR2), which is a critical step in the ...
