The Role of Cgrp-Receptor Component Protein (Rcp) in Cgrp-Mediated Signal Transduction

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2001
The calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP)-receptor component protein (RCP) is a 17-kDa intracellular peripheral membrane protein required for signal transduction at CGRP receptors.

Lafutidine Facilitates Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide (CGRP) Nerve-Mediated Vasodilation via Vanilloid-1 Receptors in Rat Mesenteric Resistance Arteries

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2008
Lafutidine is a histamine H2-receptor antagonist with gastric antisecretory and gastroprotective activity associated with activation of capsaicin-sensitive nerves.

Is Persistent Post-COVID Headache Associated With Protein-Protein Interactions Between Antibodies Against Viral Spike Protein and CGRP Receptor?: A Case Report

open access: yesFrontiers in Pain Research, 2022
BackgroundAfter the acute pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a wide variety of symptoms are identified under the term post-COVID syndrome, such as persistent headache.

The role of epidermal growth factor-like module containing mucin-like hormone receptor 2 in human cancers. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) are among the most diverse and ubiquitous proteins in all of biology. The epidermal growth factor-seven span transmembrane (EGF-TM7) subfamily of adhesion GPCRs is a small subset whose members are mainly expressed on ...

A Tac1‐Expressing Brainstem Pathway Underlies the Pathogenesis of Trigeminal Neuralgia

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A critical TG‐Sp5CTac1‐PBNTac1 pathway drives trigeminal neuropathic pain (TNP). Tac1‐expressing parabrachial nucleus (PBNTac1) neurons exhibit heightened responses to innocuous stimuli in TNP, and chemogenetic inhibition of these neurons effectively prevents TNP development.

Microglia Are Indispensable for Synaptic Plasticity in the Spinal Dorsal Horn and Chronic Pain

open access: yesCell Reports, 2019
Summary: Spinal long-term potentiation (LTP) at C-fiber synapses is hypothesized to underlie chronic pain. However, a causal link between spinal LTP and chronic pain is still lacking. Here, we report that high-frequency stimulation (HFS; 100 Hz, 10 V) of

Single‐Cell Atlas of Subchondral Bone Marrow Lesions Reveals Proteostasis Dysfunction as a Druggable Mechanism for Early Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that abnormal mechanical stress downregulates the expression of HSP70 and impairs proteasome function in osteoarthritic bone cells, leading to misfolded collagen I accumulation and ER stress. When intracellular proteostasis capacity is exceeded, USP19 mediates the secretion of misfolded proteins into the extracellular space ...

Ultrasound Controlled‐Release Hydrogel Promotes Diabetic Wound Healing via Neuroimmune Modulation and Synergistic ROS Scavenging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents an ultrasound‐responsive hydrogel (MCF@CA) that co‐delivers a neuropeptide (CGRP) and a ROS‐scavenging manganese porphyrin to diabetic wounds. The system restores neuro‐immune communication, reprograms macrophages toward an anti‐inflammatory phenotype, and clears excess ROS, thereby accelerating wound closure and promoting mature ...

Gene Transfer of Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide Inhibits Macrophages and Inflammatory Mediators in Vein Graft Disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Vein graft disease is a chronic inflammatory disease and limits the late results of coronary revascularization. Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) inhibits macrophages infiltrated and inflammatory mediators, we hypothesized that transfected CGRP gene
