Characterization of the CCR2 chemokine receptor: functional CCR2 receptor expression in B cells.
The Journal of Immunology, 1997Abstract We have derived anti-human CCR2-specific mAbs by immunization with synthetic peptides corresponding to CCR2 sequences presumably involved in the interaction with its ligand(s). The characterization of these mAbs includes the ability to recognize the CCR2 receptor specifically, as well as the function based on their ability to ...

Regulation of CCR2 chemokine receptor mRNA stability
Journal of Leukocyte Biology, 1997Abstract During inflammatory and immunological responses, leukocytes respond to external stimuli by altering the stability of cytokine and cytokine receptor messages. Change in message stability is an effective mechanism for rapidly regulating steady state levels of mRNA.

CCR2 chemokine receptor and AIDS progression
Nature Medicine, 1997Recently we reported an association between the CCR2-64I chemokine receptor mutation and delayed onset of AIDS. Michael et al. have now examined the San Francisco Mens Health Study (SFMHS) AIDS cohort for CCR2 genotypes and in this issue of Nature Medicine report that they fail to detect the CCR2-64I association.

Homology modeling of human CCR2 receptor
Medicinal Chemistry Research, 2010Homology model of CCR2 receptor was built on the basis of the crystal structure of human beta-2 adrenoceptor (PDB ID-2RH1). The model showed 99.3% residues in the core and allowed regions of the Ramachandran plot and there was no residue present in the disallowed regions.

PCSK9 regulates the chemokine receptor CCR2 on monocytes
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2017Monocyte migration is a key element in atherosclerosis. LDL-C facilitates monocyte migration via induction of CCR2. PCSK9 regulates cell surface expression of the LDL-R and is expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). The present study was done to investigate the regulation of PCSK9 in VSMCs and its impact on monocyte function.PCSK9 mRNA and ...

Chemokine receptor CCR2 involvement in skeletal muscle regeneration
The FASEB Journal, 2004ABSTRACT Chemokines, signaling through the CCR2 receptor, are highly expressed in injured skeletal muscle. Their target specificity depends on the cellular expression of the specific receptors. Here we demonstrate that, in freeze‐injured muscle, CCR2 co‐localized with Mac‐3, a marker of activated macrophages as well as with myogenin ...

Chemokine receptor CCR2 undergoes transportin1‐dependent nuclear translocation
PROTEOMICS, 2008Abstract Chemokines (CCs) are small chemoattractant cytokines involved in a wide variety of biological and pathological processes. Released by cells in the milieu, and extracellular matrix and activating signalling cascades upon binding to specific G protein‐coupled receptors (GPCRs), they trigger many cellular events.
