The in‐hospital mortality rate for perforated peptic ulcer in this study was 5.0%, and conservative treatment was safely performed even in elderly patients. As the perforation diameter increased, the rate of gastrectomy tended to rise, and the rate of anastomotic leakage in those patients was high.

ABSTRACT Background and Aims Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria is characterized by the sudden onset of itchy wheals and angioedema and is primarily driven by mast cells. It can have a significant impact on the Quality of Life (QoL) of an individual. While the role of mast cells in urticaria is extensively described, the link between sleep disorders and ...

An overview of the non‐procedural treatment options for peripheral neuropathic pain
Abstract Peripheral neuropathic pain is common in patients with peripheral nerve injury and can significantly impact both their function and quality of life. There is a wide variety of non‐interventional treatment approaches, including pharmacologic therapy, physical/occupational therapy, modalities (therapeutic, mechanical, thermal, etc.), psychology,

Molecular cloning of a gene encoding the histamine H2 receptor. [PDF]
The H2 subclass of histamine receptors mediates gastric acid secretion, and antagonists for this receptor have proven to be effective therapy for acid peptic disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. The physiological action of histamine has been shown to be mediated via a guanine nucleotide-binding protein linked to adenylate cyclase activation and ...

ABSTRACT Angelica dahurica radix (ADR), the root of the botanical family Apiaceae (genus Angelica, species Angelica dahurica (Hoffm.)), has been used to treat colitis in clinical practice. The immunomodulatory effects of ADR are attributed to its polysaccharides (RP). However, its mechanism of action has not been elucidated.

Lysergic acid diethylamide stimulates cardiac human H2 histamine and cardiac human 5-HT4-serotonin receptors [PDF]
Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) is an artificial hallucinogenic drug. Thus, we hypothesized that LSD might act 5-HT4 serotonin receptors and/or H2 histamine receptors.

The use of benzodiazepine receptor agonists (BZRAs) was linked to a reduced incidence of irAEs in patients with NSCLC receiving anti‐PD‐1/PD‐L1 monotherapy. However, among those who developed irAEs, BZRA use was associated with shorter PFS and OS. These findings suggest that while BZRAs may lower the incidence of irAEs, they could also diminish the ...

Histamine, mast cells and tumour cell proliferation in breast cancer: does preoperative cimetidine administration have an effect? [PDF]
Endogenous histamine has been shown to effect growth mechanisms in experimental mammary carcinomas via H2 membrane receptors (Cricco et al, 1994). Both H1 and H2 binding sites are present in human mammary glands but only 75% malignant carcinomas express ...
