SGLT2i in heart failure: Cardiorenal mechanisms, clinical evidence and translational perspectives

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 5, October 2026.
SGLT2 inhibitors improve heart failure outcomes through integrated cardiorenal mechanisms. In the kidney, they reduce glucose and sodium reabsorption, promoting natriuresis, osmotic diuresis and renal protection. In the heart, they enhance myocardial energetics, reduce inflammation, oxidative stress, fibrosis and adverse remodelling, resulting in fewer

Molecular and Cellular Underpinnings of Primary Hypertension: An Integrative Mechanistic Framework

open access: yesJournal of Cellular Physiology, Volume 241, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Hypertension is a highly prevalent clinical condition and a major contributor to global cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Despite extensive research, its complex and multifaceted pathogenesis is yet to be fully elucidated. This paper explores the updated understanding of primary hypertension as a systemic disorder rather than an isolated

Trends and Demographic Disparities Among Adults With Sudden Cardiac Death and Diabetes Mellitus in the United States: A Nationwide Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
From 1999 to 2020, 51 756 U.S. deaths documented both sudden cardiac death and diabetes mellitus, with population‐level burden rising significantly (APC +0.46%). Disparities were greatest among men, Black populations, rural residents, and Southern states, with a sharp mortality surge in 2020 coinciding with the COVID‐19 pandemic.

Radiotherapy‐Induced Side Effects: Epidemiology, Pathogenesis, Prevention and Treatments

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
Radiotherapy for malignancies frequently injures the organs’ systems through oxidative stress, fibrosis, inflammation, and vascular damage. This review systematically maps the epidemiology, pathogenesis, and emerging therapies to propose a mechanism‑network‑targeted framework for integrated, personalized care in radiation oncology.
