Riligustilide Attenuated Renal Injury by the Blockade of Renin

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2018
Background/Aims: Nephropathy related with renin can be alleviated with ACE-inhibitors or AT1R blockers, whereas they might be ineffective after long-term administration because of a feedback production of enhanced renin.

Syncing Health Timing: Exploring the Interplay of Circadian Rhythms, Obesity, and Cardiovascular Diseases

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythm disruption impairs metabolic regulation, appetite control, and vascular function, promoting obesity and cardiovascular diseases. Evidence highlights a bidirectional relationship where metabolic disorders further disturb circadian timing.

The blockade of the renin-angiotensin system reverses tacrolimus related cardiovascular toxicity at the histopathological level

open access: yes, 2007
Introduction. In this study, we investigate the toxic effects of tacrolimus (FK506) on the cardiovascular system at the histopathological level in a rat model and whether these effects can be reversed by the blockade of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS)

Prior Use of Renin-Angiotensin System Inhibitors and Risk of Renal Replacement Therapy in Critically Ill Elderly Patients With Sepsis: A Population-Based Cohort Study

open access: yesCritical Care Explorations
OBJECTIVES:. We sought to estimate the association between chronic use of renin-angiotensin system inhibitors and acute kidney injury requiring renal replacement therapy in critically ill adult patients with sepsis. DESIGN:. Population-based cohort study

Mapping the Global Clinical Landscape of Pharmacological Therapies for Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction: An Analysis Based on ClinicalTrials.gov (2003–2025)

open access: yesiMetaMed, EarlyView.
This study analyzed 236 heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) pharmacological trials registered on ClinicalTrials.gov from 2003 to 2025, revealing a post‐2016 surge (76.3%), U.S. dominance (58.5%), and prominence of SGLT2 inhibitors/novel therapies (each 13.1%).

ACE‐inhibitory peptide Leu‐Tyr‐Ala in skeletal muscle actin exhibits anti‐aging effects through the inhibition of acn‐1 in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Inhibitors of angiotensin‐converting enzyme (ACE) are used in pharmaceuticals and functional foods. Captopril, a well‐known ACE inhibitor, extends the lifespan of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans. Bioactive peptides derived from food sources are considered safe ACE inhibitors.
