Retinoid X Receptor-Antagonistic Diazepinylbenzoic Acids.

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 1999
Several dibenzodiazepine derivatives were identified as novel retinoid X receptor (RXR) antagonists on the basis of inhibitory activity on retinoid-induced cell differentiation of human promyelocytic leukemia cells HL-60 and transactivation assay using retinoic acid receptors (RARs) and RXRs in COS-1 cells.

YTHDC1 Is Essential for Postnatal Liver Development and Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies YTHDC1 as a key regulator of postnatal liver development and disease. Hepatocyte‐specific deletion of Ythdc1 impairs hepatocyte maturation, causing liver injury, contributing to nonalcoholic steatohepatitis and hepatocellular carcinoma.

High-fructose diet downregulates long-chain acyl-CoA synthetase 3 expression in liver of hamsters via impairing LXR/RXR signaling pathway[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2013
Long-chain acyl-CoA synthetases (ACSL) play key roles in fatty acid metabolism in liver and other metabolic tissues in an isozyme-specific manner. In this study, we examined the effects of a fructose-enriched diet on expressions of ACSL isoforms in the ...

Successful Treatment of Advanced Primary Cutaneous Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma with Oral Bexarotene Monotherapy

open access: yesCase Reports in Oncology, 2018
Bexarotene is a third-generation retinoid X receptor-selective retinoid that is widely used for the early treatment of advanced-stage cutaneous T-cell lymphomas.

A case of acute myeloid leukemia with promyelocytic features characterized by expression of a novel RARG-CPSF6 fusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Key Points Novel RARG-CPSF6 fusion in an AML case with promyelocytic features and no evidence of PML-RARA or X-RARA fusion. Gene fusions involving RARG can initiate AML with promyelocytic morphological features.

Diglycerides of Natural Phenols and Organic Acids for Enhanced Biological Activities

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Diglycerides of natural organic acids and phenols were synthesized regio‐selectively. Diglycerides are structurally similar to cell membranes and are expected to exhibit cell affinity and permeability. The flexible glycerol linkers allow the diglycerides to exhibit not only the physiological activities of each constituent organic acid but also the ...

A retinoid X receptor partial agonist attenuates pulmonary emphysema and airway inflammation

open access: yesRespiratory Research, 2019
Background Retinoid X receptors (RXRs) are members of the nuclear receptor (NR) superfamily that mediate signalling by 9-cis retinoic acid, a vitamin A derivative.

Dual Functions of Dietary Rubber Seed Oil Supplementation: Enriching N‐3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids and Enhancing Antioxidant Capacity in Pekin Ducks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary RSO supplementation improved growth performance, simultaneously enriched n‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n‐3 PUFA), and enhanced antioxidant capacity in Pekin ducks, which suggested that RSO has the potential to be a novel n‐3 PUFA source and an antioxidant for Pekin ducks to generate animal functional foods.

Comprehensive study of nuclear receptor DNA binding provides a revised framework for understanding receptor specificity

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
The type II nuclear receptors (NRs) and the retinoid X receptor (RXR) form heterodimeric transcription factors to regulate development, metabolism, and inflammation.

Establishment of a monoclonal antibody for human LXRα: Detection of LXRα protein expression in human macrophages [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Liver X activated receptor alpha (LXRα) forms a functional dimeric nuclear receptor with RXR that regulates the metabolism of several important lipids, including cholesterol and bile acids.
