tRNA 3′ processing in yeast involves tRNase Z, Rex1, and Rrp6 [PDF]

open access: yesRNA, 2013
Mature tRNA 3′ ends in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae are generated by two pathways: endonucleolytic and exonucleolytic. Although two exonucleases, Rex1 and Rrp6, have been shown to be responsible for the exonucleolytic trimming, the identity of the endonuclease has been inferred from other systems but not confirmed in vivo.

P-Rex1 expression in breast cancer patients

open access: yesAnnals of Oncology, 2019
Abstract Background Worldwide, Breast cancer (BC) is the leading cause of cancer-related mortality in women. In Argentina, breast cancer is the second leading cause of death in women, with an incidence of 18.47%. Given the importance of breast cancer for public health, and the diversity of patients’ response to current therapies, the identification ...

Exogenous WNT5A and WNT11 proteins rescue CITED2 dysfunction in mouse embryonic stem cells and zebrafish morphants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Mutations and inadequate methylation profiles of CITED2 are associated with human congenital heart disease (CHD). In mouse, Cited2 is necessary for embryogenesis, particularly for heart development, and its depletion in embryonic stem cells (ESC) impairs

GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

Scattered organization of the histone multigene family and transposable elements in Synbranchus

open access: yesGenetics and Molecular Biology, 2014
The fish species Synbranchus marmoratus is widely distributed throughout the Neotropical region and exhibits a significant karyotype differentiation. However, data concerning the organization and location of the repetitive DNA sequences in the genomes of

Markers of Pluripotency in Human Amniotic Epithelial Cells and Their Differentiation to Progenitor of Cortical Neurons. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Human pluripotent stem cells (hPSC) have promise for regenerative medicine due to their auto-renovation and differentiation capacities. Nevertheless, there are several ethical and methodological issues about these cells that have not been resolved. Human

Rex1p Deficiency Leads to Accumulation of Precursor Initiator tRNA\u3csup\u3eMet\u3c/sup\u3e and Polyadenylation of Substrate RNAs in \u3cem\u3eSaccharomyces cerevisiae\u3c/em\u3e [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A synthetic genetic array was used to identify lethal and slow-growth phenotypes produced when a mutation in TRM6, which encodes a tRNA modification enzyme subunit, was combined with the deletion of any non-essential gene in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Entropic principle and asymptotic freedom [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Motivated by the recent developments about the Hartle-Hawking wave function associated to black holes, we formulate an entropy functional on the moduli space of Calabi-Yau compactifications. We find that the maximization of the entropy is correlated with

Mesenchymal Stem Cells From a Klinefelter Syndrome Patient: Functional Characterization and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Cell therapy, particularly those utilizing mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (MSCs), is gaining traction as a therapeutic option for regenerative treatment in patients with limited therapeutic options. Although the safety of MSC‐based interventions is well established, uncertainties remain regarding how genetic abnormalities and ...

P‐Rex1 regulates lung microvascular permeability

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, 2010
Acute Lung Injury (ALI) is a major cause of death in sepsis resulting from Gram‐negative bacterial infection. Polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) respond to septicemic infection by releasing superoxide anions, which is a major mechanism for bacterial clearance.
