Deletions, insertions and rearrangments affecting rpoB gene expression
Molecular and General Genetics MGG, 1979Through cloning and deletion experiments on ColEl hybrids the rpoB gene (Rifr) was located on a physical restriction map; RNA polymerase binding studies showed no binding site within the structural gene. The genetic data and RNA polymerase binding studies lead to the conclusion that rp/L and rpoB are dependent upon a common promoter.

Mycobacterium tuberculosisborderlinerpoBmutations: emerging from the unknown
European Respiratory Journal, 2021Despite their name, borderline rpoB mutations are correlated with unfavourable outcomes when rifampicin-throughout treatment is used. They may become the drivers of rifampicin-resistant tuberculosis. Second-line treatment is recommended. Footnotes This manuscript has recently been accepted for publication in the European Respiratory Journal .

Host associated polymorphisms in the Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis rpoB gene sequence
Veterinary Microbiology, 2011Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis is a widespread facultative intracellular pathogen that causes caseous lymphadenitis disease in sheep and goats, and generates cutaneous abscesses and granulomas in horses and cattle. Although some genes have been studied for diagnostic and phylogenetic analysis within the genus Corynebacterium, at subspecies level ...

Detection of rpoB Gene Mutations Using Helicase-Dependent Amplification
2013For patients infected with tuberculosis, detection of rpoB gene mutations is critical for diagnosing drug-resistant strains of the causative pathogen, Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). Traditional approaches to drug resistance include culture, which is very slow.

Molecular serotyping of Salmonella enterica by complete rpoB gene sequencing
Journal of Microbiology, 2012Serotyping has been the gold standard for identifying Salmonella, but it requires large amounts of standard antisera. Multilocus sequence typing (MLST) has been applied to identify Salmonella serovars, but the recombination of 4-7 housekeeping genes and multiple analytic steps diminish its applicability. In the present study, we determined the complete

Gene, 1996
A 6.5-kb DNA fragment containing the gene (rpoB) encoding the RNA polymerase (RNAP) beta subunit, from the mollicute Spiroplasma citri (Sc), was cloned and sequenced. The classical eubacterial organization, with the genes (rplK, A, J and L) encoding ribosomal proteins L11, L1, L10 and L12 located immediately upstream from rpoB, was not found in the Sc ...

RifR mutations in the beginning of the Escherichia coli rpoB gene
Molecular and General Genetics MGG, 1994In Escherichia coli, mutations conferring rifampicin (Rif) resistance map to the rpoB gene, which encodes the 1342-amino acid beta subunit of RNA polymerase. Almost all sequenced RifR mutations occur within the Rif region, encompassing rpoB codons 500-575.

[Detection of rpoB gene mutations in Mycobacterium tuberculosis].
Fen zi xi bao sheng wu xue bao = Journal of molecular cell biology, 2009ABSTRACT With Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv as a control, the mutations of rpoB gene from 37 Mycobacterium tuberculosis clinical isolates (18 rifampin-resistant strains and 19 rifampin-susceptible strains) have been detected by polymerase chain reaction-single strand conformation polymorphism(PCR-SSCP) under standard condition (no glycerol in gel ...
