Benzoyl‐Xanthenoxanthenes: Versatile Chromophores for Light‐Engaging Applications

Oxidatively stable benzoyl‐fused peri‐xanthenoxanthene ribbons with NIR emission were synthesized. Their good spectral overlap enabled cascaded Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET) antennae in a nematic liquid crystal phase, achieving directional energy transfer.

Detection of S-Acylated CD95 by Acyl-Biotin Exchange [PDF]

S-acylation is the covalent addition of a fatty acid, most generally palmitate onto cysteine residues of proteins through a labile thioester linkage. The death receptor CD95 is S-palmitoylated and this post-translational modification plays a crucial role on CD95 organization in cellular membranes and thus on CD95-mediated signaling.

Palmitoylation‐Mediated Ubiquitination of SRPK1 Regulates Ferroptosis in High‐Fat‐Induced Erectile Dysfunction

Elevated exogenous palmitic acid promotes the S‐palmitoylation of SRPK1 in endothelial cells, a dynamic process governed by ZDHHC24 and APT1. This post‐translational modification strengthens the interaction between SRPK1 and the E3 ubiquitin ligase MIB1, thereby facilitating the proteasomal degradation of SRPK1.

PIK3CA Mutations Downregulate PPT1 to Promote Adipogenesis by Suppressing P300 Depalmitoylation and Phase Separation

This study demonstrates that somatic PIK3CA mutations suppress PPT1 expression via activation of the PI3K–AKT–c‐JUN axis. This reduction in PPT1 weakens its interaction with P300, thereby increasing palmitoylation at C1176 of P300 and protecting P300 from lysosomal degradation.
