This study identifies SEMA5B as a tumor suppressor in prostate cancer that suppresses the malignant phenotype, affects mitochondrial oxidative metabolism, induces cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, and is associated with the immune‐inflammatory tumor microenvironment, highlighting its potential as a biomarker and target for immunotherapy. ABSTRACT SEMA5B

Identification of Desmoglein-2 as a novel target of Helicobacter pylori HtrA in epithelial cells
Background High temperature requirement A (HtrA) is an active serine protease secreted by the group-I carcinogen Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). The human cell adhesion protein and tumor suppressor E-cadherin (hCdh1) expressed on the surface of gastric ...

Proteolytic remodelling of the extracellular matrix by pericytes
Pericytes are specialised perivascular cells intimately connected with endothelial cells and essential for the maintenance of vascular beds. They contribute to the formation and remodelling of the extracellular matrix by actively secreting proteases and protease inhibitors.

The role of semaphorin 4D as a potential biomarker for antiangiogenic therapy in colorectal cancer. [PDF]
Semaphorin 4D (Sema4D) belongs to the class IV semaphorins, and accumulating evidence has indicated that its elevated level may be one strategy by which tumors evade current anti-angiogenic therapies. The biological roles of Sema4D in colorectal cancer (CRC), however, remain largely undefined.

Understanding the congruent effects of different types of antidepressant treatments on sensitive brain regions, such as the hippocampus and cortex, can highlight essential mechanisms of action. We used a systematic meta‐analysis of public transcriptional profiling datasets to identify genes and functional gene sets that are differentially expressed ...

Abstract Background Acute pain transfusion reaction (APTR) is a rare, under‐recognized condition of unknown etiology. It can cause significant distress in recipients, necessitating symptomatic management and, occasionally, hospitalization. Study Design and Methods Here, we present an APTR event in an adult subject with transfusion‐dependent thalassemia

Zonated osteochondral assembloid implants are engineered through scaffold‐free spatial assembly of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)‐derived chondrocyte organoids and periosteum‐derived osteogenic organoids. Implanted into full‐thickness rat osteochondral defects, they promote hyaline‐like cartilage repair, support subchondral bone formation with ...
