Spatial transcriptomics reveals a new cluster of fibroblasts to promote the progression of lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 3, June 2026.
1. Spatial transcriptomics reveals two types of colocation patterns between lung cancer cells and fibroblasts in LUAD. SPP1+ TM4SF4+ epithelial cells and COL+ fibroblasts were co‐located in a highly malignant region, while SFTPC+ epithelial cells and DCN+ fibroblasts were in a low malignant region. 2.

Epigenetic Aging in Brain Tissue of the Self‐Fertilizing Vertebrate, Kryptolebias marmoratus

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Using the self‐fertilizing vertebrate Kryptolebias marmoratus, we developed an epigenetic clock from brain tissue that predicts chronological age with high accuracy, demonstrating that DNA methylation changes consistently with age even in the near absence of genetic variation. The 40 age‐associated CpG sites identified map to genes with conserved roles

Sema4A Protects Against Muscle Atrophy and Promotes Repair by Regulating Intracellular Metabolic Signalling

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 17, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Skeletal muscle atrophy is a debilitating condition associated with diverse diseases and clinical interventions. Although triggers such as glucocorticoid excess or direct muscle injury disrupt the balance between protein homeostasis and tissue repair, the upstream molecular signals that actively preserve muscle integrity remain ...

From HBV to MASLD Cirrhosis: Mechanistic Insights and Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesPortal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, Volume 5, Issue 2, Page 170-188, June 2026.
This review examines the epidemiological shift from hepatitis B virus (HBV) to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) as the leading cause of cirrhosis globally. It highlights the distinct pathogenic mechanisms between HBV and MASLD cirrhosis and discusses evolving diagnostic tools and therapeutic strategies tailored to the ...

Tumor‐Derived Exosomal TAGLN2 Promotes Metastasis by Inducing Vascular Permeability and Angiogenesis via the NRP1/SEMA4D/YAP Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 29, 22 May 2026.
Gastric cancer‐derived exosomal TAGLN2 is identified as a key mediator of vascular reprogramming, with significantly elevated levels detected in patient serum. Independent of canonical SEMA4D signaling, it nucleates a cytoplasmic TAGLN2/NRP1/SEMA4D ternary complex that dually activates YAP, promoting angiogenesis, vascular dysfunction, and metastasis ...

Semaphorin heterodimerization in cis regulates membrane targeting and neocortical wiring

open access: yesNature Communications
Disruption of neocortical circuitry and architecture in humans causes numerous neurodevelopmental disorders. Neocortical cytoarchitecture is orchestrated by various transcription factors such as Satb2 that control target genes during strict time windows.
