Abstract Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is associated with chronic systemic and cardiac inflammation, contributing to the development of diabetic cardiomyopathy. The mitochondrial‐derived peptide mitochondrial open reading frame of the 12S rRNA type‐C (MOTS‐c) has emerged as a promising regulator of metabolic and inflammatory pathways.

ABSTRACT Background The inflammatory response to whole‐body ischemia, as seen in comatose survivors after out‐of‐hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA), is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Early high‐dose dexamethasone may dampen the inflammatory response, which may diminish secondary brain damage and other organ injury and decrease mortality.

ABSTRACT Background Delirium is a frequent complication in comatose Out‐of‐Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) survivors requiring postresuscitation intensive care and is associated with higher mortality and longer hospitalization. Despite this, there is no established pharmacologic strategy for delirium prevention in OHCA survivors.

Role and interactions of organelle stress in septic cardiomyopathy
Septic cardiomyopathy (SCM) refers to the cardiac dysfunction induced by sepsis, a longstanding focus in clinical research. It usually presents as reversible myocardial dysfunction with a complex pathogenesis.

The Challenge of Determining the Etiology of Encephalopathy in an Elderly Patient
ABSTRACT Encephalopathy is a heterogeneous clinical syndrome with numerous neurological and systemic etiologies. We report the case of a 67‐year‐old man, a chronic ethanol consumer, admitted with a one‐week history of confusional syndrome. Initial laboratory tests revealed severe hypercalcemia, acute kidney injury, mild anemia, and hyperproteinemia ...

ABSTRACT Propionic acidemia (PA) is a rare inherited metabolic disorder associated with recurrent metabolic decompensations and chronic multisystemic complications. Liver transplantation (LT) may improve metabolic stability, but its long‐term impact on organ involvement remains debated.

SEPSIS-INDUCED MYOCARDIAL DYSFUNCTION: WHAT IS KNOWN? (LITERATURE REVIEW)
Sepsis is defi ned as a life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by an unregulated response to infection. Sepsis- induced myocardial dysfunction is a common and serious complication in patients with generalized infectious and infl ammatory processes.

Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury: Molecular Mechanisms and Therapeutic Interventions
Multiorgan ischemia–reperfusion injury begins with ischemia‐induced ATP depletion and ionic imbalance, followed by reperfusion‐triggered mitochondrial ROS/RNS bursts, regulated cell death, and DAMP release. Sterile inflammation converges on endothelial–immune–coagulation crosstalk, where NETs drive immunothrombosis, no‐reflow, and remote organ injury ...
