Unravelling the Significance of Phosphoenolpyruvate Carboxylase in Phosphate Starvation Responses

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 1, Page 177-192, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Low phosphate availability is a major concern for agriculture. Plants develop a plethora of responses to improve phosphate acquisition, known as phosphate starvation responses (PSR). Among them, the induction of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPC) has been described in many plants. However, most studies have been conducted in the absence of

Synthesis, biological screening, and in silico physicochemical analysis of novel 1,2,3-triazolyl oleate esters

open access: yesCase Studies in Chemical and Environmental Engineering
Herein, oleic acid was derivatized to 1,2,3-triazolyl oleate esters through propargylation followed by copper(I)-mediated azide-alkyne [3 + 2] cycloaddition, confirmed by IR, NMR and HRMS. All products exhibited similar antioxidant activity to oleic acid.

Stacking of a low-lignin trait with an increased guaiacyl and 5-hydroxyguaiacyl unit trait leads to additive and synergistic effects on saccharification efficiency in Arabidopsis thaliana [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background: Lignocellulosic biomass, such as wood and straw, is an interesting feedstock for the production of fer-mentable sugars. However, mainly due to the presence of lignin, this type of biomass is recalcitrant to saccharification.
