Characterization of wheat/Aegilops ventricosa introgression and addition lines corresponding to the Mv genome. [PDF]
Stable wheat-Aegilops introgression lines with 42 chromosomes (H-93), derived by repeated selfing from a cross (Triticum turgidum x Aegilops ventricosa) x T. aestivum, have been characterized using the following DNA probes and isozyme markers: (1) single

BAHD acyltransferases drive metabolic diversification in plants by coupling conserved catalytic scaffolds with regulatory flexibility, enabling stress adaptation and ecological specialisation. ABSTRACT BAHD acyltransferases constitute one of the most versatile enzyme superfamilies in plants, catalysing the acylation of alcohols, amines, polyamines, and

Transcriptomic analysis of field-droughted sorghum from seedling to maturity reveals biotic and metabolic responses. [PDF]
Drought is the most important environmental stress limiting crop yields. The C4 cereal sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] is a critical food, forage, and emerging bioenergy crop that is notably drought-tolerant.

ABSTRACT Enhancing nutritional quality of oilseed rape requires deeper insight into the genetic control of seed quality traits. This study analysed the effect of varying soil phosphorus (P) levels on seed quality traits in the hybrid cultivar Architect. NIRS and laboratory methods were used to quantify total seed P and phytic acid (IP6) content.

Shikimic acid 3-phosphate (S-3-P) is needed as a substrate to detect the enzyme activity of 5-enolpyruvylshikimic acid 3-phosphate synthase (CP4EPSPS), which is expressed in genetically modified soybeans. Therefore, we attempted the over-expression of shikimate kinase II (SK-II) in E. coli to biosynthetically obtain S-3-P.

Site of Prenylation Reaction in Synthesis of Phylloquinone (Vitamin K1) by Spinach Chloroplasts [PDF]
In spinach chloroplasts, 1,4-dihydroxy-2-naphthoate is prenylated by phytyldiphosphate and subsequently methylated by S-adenosylmethionine to form phylloquinol.

Study of the Phosphoryl‐Transfer Mechanism of Shikimate Kinase by NMR Spectroscopy [PDF]
AbstractThe phosphoryl‐transfer mechanism of shikimate kinase from Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Helicobacter pylori, which is an attractive target for antibiotic drug discovery, has been studied by 1D 1H and 31P NMR spectroscopy. Metaphosphoric acid proved to be a good mimetic of the metaphosphate intermediate and facilitated the ready and rapid ...

Endosymbiosis in trypanosomatids: the genomic cooperation between bacterium and host in the synthesis of essential amino acids is heavily influenced by multiple horizontal gene transfers [PDF]
Background Trypanosomatids of the genera Angomonas and Strigomonas live in a mutualistic association characterized by extensive metabolic cooperation with obligate endosymbiotic Betaproteobacteria.

ABSTRACT The “salt tree”, Rhus chinensis, holds significant economic and medicinal value due to its ability to produce Galla chinensis (Chinese gall/gallnut), a plant‐derived medicinal material used in both traditional Chinese and modern medicine that is rich in tannins and flavonoids. It is also renowned for its remarkable stress tolerance.
