A study on rotational motion control for ship steering motion control

Journal of the Korean Society of Marine Engineering, 2016
In general, a series of ship steering motions is composed of a combination of translational motions and rotational motions of the ship. In particular, a series of rotational motions frequently occurs in narrow areas such as ports and canal zones. In this paper, a method was suggested for composing an integrated control algorithm based on the jog dial ...

A Fuzzy Controller for Integrated Ship Motion Control

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1999
Abstract This paper describes The development of fuzzy controller for integrated control of the coupled yaw-roll motion of a container ship. The basic fuzzy rules used for designing an integrated multivariable rudder roll damping and yaw autopilot are discussed.

On-line adaptive neural networks for ship motion control

2007 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2007
An online neural-net control system, in which learning and control are independently carried out, is proposed for the problem of ship motion control, including roll, yaw and sway stabilization at the same time. Disturbance models, including roll moment, yaw moment and sway force induced by sea wave and wind, are presented by the experimental data in ...

Ship motion control using multi-controller structure

Ocean Engineering, 2012
The aim of this paper is to design a ship autopilot using a multi-controller structure by introducing several working points. The control design of each local controller is achieved using internal model control structure. An illustrative example shows the application of the proposed control structure to a container ship in real condition of navigation.

Stabilization of the Ship Motion by Restricted Control

Giroskopiya i Navigatsiya, 2020
. The article presents an algorithm for controlling the motion of an insufficiently controlled ship along a trajectory with a continuous bounded curvature, based on the feedback linearization method. The algorithm allows restricting the control signal, while the state vector of the ship motion model does not approach the singularity point of the ...
