The compound stochastic control on the ship lateral motion
Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Computer Science and Network Technology, 2011The Combined anti-roll device with passively controlled anti-rolling tank and course rudder, and the ship lateral motion modeling method using the compound stochastic control are proposed in the paper. On one hand, using Kalman filter in to come out interaction estimate and adopt to pen-loop compensation controls, which carrys on compensating to the ...

Ship Motion Control System for Replenishment Operation
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2016Underway Replenishment is a procedure whose importance is rising in shipping. It is applied both to the naval and civil vessels. That is the reason why research in this area was undertaken. In this paper idea of the ship motion control system for replenishment operations was presented. The outline of the system is described in a detail way. This system

Research of Ship Motion based on Fuzzy Control
International Journal of Control and Automation, 2016In this thesis we build the parametric mathematical model of machine tool and solid models of traction gears using in subway locomotive by analyzing the machining process of involute gears and meshing principle of involute gears. The optimization design is done through deduce the relations between basic parameters of gear and loading capacity of ...

Integrated control of ship roll and yaw motions
Transactions of the Institute of Measurement and Control, 1979Conventionally ships are steered automatically using gyroscopic feedback of heading to compare with a demanded course, and the resultant error signal is processed by a standard three-term controller before activating the steering gear to produce a rudder deflection and correct course.

Ship Motion Control Using Multiple Algorithms
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1993Abstract Design and implementation of an autopilot for ships using multiple control strategies are discussed in this paper. Both course-keeping and track-keeping problems are involved, the course-keeping controller is the essential part of the track-keeping project, and the track-keeping controller is in fact a heading error calculator and ...

Recent development on analysis and control of ship's motions
Proceedings of the 1999 IEEE International Conference on Control Applications (Cat. No.99CH36328), 2003Surveys developments in the field of analyzing a ship's motions and its control at sea. The following items are considered: (1) models representing the ship's motions, its identification, and filtering method using actual data at sea; and (2) control methods and their results in actual on-board experiments are emphasized.

A nonlinear controller for marine vehicle Control roll motion of ship
2009 41st Southeastern Symposium on System Theory, 2009The control problem of roll motion of ships which has multiple equilibrium points is investigated in this paper. A nonlinear control law is derived to make the states of this system asymptotically track and regulate the desired state. The control scheme is highly robust and achieves a stable closed loop system despite the presence of uncertainty and ...

The technical feasibility of roll motion control devices has been amply demonstrated for over 100 years. Performance, however, can still fall short of expectations because of deciencies in control system designs, which have proven to be far from trivial due to fundamental performance limitations.

CONTROL TECHNIQUES APPLIED TO INTEGRATED SHIP MOTION CONTROL
1995Fins stabilisers are devices which are fitted to the hull of a ship and utilised to ameliorate its rolling motions. They apply a regulated moment about the ship's axis of roll in order to oppose the sea induced disturbances. Recognising their unsurpassed performance, the Royal Navy, since the 1950's, equips all its vessels with fin stabilisers.
