Macrophage Trogocytosis of Tumor Cells Drives the Immunosuppression of Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Trogocytosis efficiency varies significantly among different tumor cells and is inversely related to their cortical stiffness; this efficiency dictates the extent of immunosuppression via upregulation of CXCL5 and Arg‐1, ultimately driving CD8+T cell exhaustion and tumor escape.

Siglec-1 expression by MDMs is enhanced via IFN exposure and leads to VLP internalization.

open access: yes, 2017
(A) Representative Siglec-1 and tetherin surface expression of GM-CSF matured MDMs together with 24 h IFN alpha stimulation (1000 U/ml). (B) Western blot of Siglec-1 and actin upon incubation with increasing amounts of IFN alpha in GM-CSF derived MDMs ...

Comprehensive identification of the genes involved in the expression of Siglec-15 ligands on osteoclast precursors

open access: yesCell Reports
Summary: Siglec-15 regulates osteoclast differentiation. The cellular pathways contributing to the expression of Siglec-15 ligand on osteoclast precursors are incompletely understood.

Siglecs as Therapeutic Targets in Cancer

open access: yesBiology, 2021
Hypersialylation is a common post-translational modification of protein and lipids found on cancer cell surfaces, which participate in cell-cell interactions and in the regulation of immune responses. Sialic acids are a family of nine-carbon α-keto acids

Siglec-1 mediated phagocytosis of promastigotes in macrophages.

open access: yes, 2016
(A) Sias-siglec dependent phagocytosis was quantitated by flow cytometry. J774A.1 (1× 106/well) cells were grown in a six well plate, either left untreated or blocked with anti-siglec-1 antibody (10 μg/ml) for 1 hr.

CD24-Siglec interactions in inflammatory diseases

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2023
CD24 is a small glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored glycoprotein with broad expression in multiple cell types. Due to differential glycosylation, cell surface CD24 have been shown to interact with various receptors to mediate multiple ...

CD248/Endosialin Regulates Synovial Fibroblast State to Control Coupling of Inflammation and Bone Damage in Murine Models of Immune‐Mediated Inflammatory Arthritis and Aging

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Synovial fibroblasts directly contribute to inflammation and damage in immune‐mediated inflammatory arthritis. CD248/endosialin is expressed by fibroblasts in the synovium, is highly up‐regulated during inflammation, and has been proposed as a potential therapeutic target.

Functions and therapeutic targets of Siglec-mediated infections, inflammations and cancers

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association, 2021
Siglecs, sialic acid (SA)-binding immunoglobulin (Ig)-like lectins, belong to a family of Ig-like lectins. All Siglecs have at least two domains including an extracellular domain with variable (V) and constant (C)-set immunoglobulin (Ig) regions, and a ...
