Interactions of signal peptides with signal-recognition particle [PDF]
The mechanisms whereby isolated or synthetic signal peptides inhibit processing of newly synthesized prolactin in microsome-supplemented lysates from reticulocytes and wheat-germ were investigated. At a concentration of 5 microM, a consensus signal peptide reverses the elongation arrest imposed by the signal-recognition particle (SRP), and at higher ...

Signal recognition particle prevents N-terminal processing of bacterial membrane proteins
Bacterial proteins are synthesized with formyl-methionine in their N-terminus, but most of them are co-translationally deformylated. Here, the authors show that inner-membrane proteins are protected from deformylation by the binding of the signal ...

Real-time observation of signal recognition particle binding to actively translating ribosomes
The signal recognition particle (SRP) directs translating ribosome-nascent chain complexes (RNCs) that display a signal sequence to protein translocation channels in target membranes.

Transient tether between the SRP RNA and SRP receptor ensures efficient cargo delivery during cotranslational protein targeting [PDF]
Kinetic control of macromolecular interactions plays key roles in biological regulation. An example of such control occurs in cotranslational protein targeting by the signal recognition particle (SRP), during which the SRP RNA and the cargo both ...

Antibody to signal recognition particle in polymyositis [PDF]
AbstractUsing immunoprecipitation, we identified 13 patients with antibodies to the signal recognition particle (SRP) from a collection of sera representing 265 poly‐myositis/dermatomyositis (PM/DM) patients. Antibody reactivity with SRP was confirmed by enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay and immunoprecipitation with isolated dog pancreas SRP.

The nucleolar phase of signal recognition particle assembly
Signal recognition particle (SRP) involved in tethering the ribosome to the endoplasmic reticulum for protein secretion is assembled in part in the nucleolus where it interacts with numerous ribosome assembly factors.

Signal recognition particle components in the nucleolus [PDF]
The signal recognition particle (SRP) is a ribonucleoprotein composed of an Alu domain and an S domain. The S domain contains unique sequence SRP RNA and four SRP proteins: SRP19, SRP54, SRP68, and SRP72. SRP interacts with ribosomes to bring translating membrane and secreted proteins to the endoplasmic ...

Structures of the E. coli translating ribosome with SRP and its receptor and with the translocon
The co-translational insertion of proteins into membranes requires interaction between a ribosome-bound signal recognition particle (SRP) and a membrane-bound translocon.

The Identification of ECG Signals Using WT-UKF and IPSO-SVM
The biometric identification method is a current research hotspot in the pattern recognition field. Due to the advantages of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals, which are difficult to replicate and easy to obtain, ECG-based identity identification has ...

Reconstruction and Particle Identification for a DIRC System [PDF]
We study the reconstruction and particle identification (PID) problem for Ring Imaging devices providing a good knowledge of the direction of the Cerenkov photons, as the DIRC system, on which we specialize. We advocate first the use of the stereographic
