Structure of Simian Virus 40 at 3.8 Å Resolution. [PDF]
The crystallographically determined structure of simian virus 40 shows that the 72 pentamers of viral protein VP1, which form the outer shell, have identical conformations except for the C-terminal arms of their subunits.

Urologic Bacteriome: The Hero or the Villain in Prostate Cancer Onset, Progression, and Treatment?
ABSTRACT Prostate cancer (PCa) is the second most frequently diagnosed cancer in men worldwide and the fifth leading cause of cancer‐related mortality, presenting urgent unmet clinical needs in diagnosis and treatment. The recognition of the microbiome as a key factor in human health has prompted numerous studies, revealing an exciting new approach to ...

Stable growth of simian virus 40 recombinants containing multimerized enhancers [PDF]
Multiple copies of each of three genetically defined simian virus 40 protoenhancers, A, B, and C, were able to substitute for the wild-type simian virus 40 enhancer.

Simian Virus 40 and Polyoma Virus Induce Synthesis of Heat Shock Proteins in Permissive Cells [PDF]
During the lytic infection of monkey and mouse cells with simian virus 40 and polyoma virus, respectively, the preferentially increased synthesis of two host proteins of 92,000 and 72,000 Mr was observed by 15 to 20 h after infection besides the general ...

ABSTRACT HIV remains a significant public health issue, with 1.3 million new infections and 630,000 deaths annually, and 40.8 million people living with HIV (PLHIV) globally in 2024. Although antiretroviral therapy (ART) suppresses viral replication, it does not eradicate the virus, and metabolic dysregulation persists despite treatment.

Using a 3D cell culture model of the fibrotic barrier in pancreatic cancer, this work shows that inhibiting NUAK2 kinase in pancreatic stellate cells enhances macromolecular drug delivery. Mechanistically, NUAK2 inhibition disrupted actin stress fiber assembly to downregulate collagen I expression, thus enhancing macromolecular permeability.
