Next‐Generation Sequencing Methods for Sensitive Hepatitis B Viral Genome Analysis: A European Study

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 98, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This multicentre study investigated the utility of next‐generation sequencing (NGS) to detect and generate hepatitis B virus (HBV) genomes in samples of low viral load (from 0.2 to 6207 IU/mL). 23 HBV DNA‐positive plasma samples of genotypes A‐E and one HBV‐negative control sample were assayed blindly via 9 established NGS methods from 6 ...

Beraprost Attenuates Starvation‐Induced Apoptosis and Protects Feline Endothelial Cells

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
This study established a feline endothelial cell starvation model to test the anti‐apoptotic effects of beraprost and its stereoisomers. Beraprost and beraprost‐314d reduced starvation‐induced apoptosis by inhibiting caspase‐3/7 activity and modulating Bax expression, while beraprost‐315d was less potent.

BiP and Multiple DNAJ Molecular Chaperones in the Endoplasmic Reticulum Are Required for Efficient Simian Virus 40 Infection

open access: yesmBio, 2011
Simian virus 40 (SV40) is a nonenveloped DNA virus that traffics through the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) en route to the nucleus, but the mechanisms of capsid disassembly and ER exit are poorly understood.

The DNA/RNA autophagy protein SIDT2 as a novel neuropathological hallmark in Huntington disease

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 5, September 2026.
SIDT2‐immunoreactive inclusions are observed in the striatum, cerebral cortex, and hypothalamus in HD cases with different Vonsattel grades, and the frequency of SIDT2‐immunoreactive inclusions is associated with longer CAG repeats in the huntingtin gene.

Functional Specialization of Clathrin‐Independent Endocytic Routes: Mechanisms and Cellular Roles

open access: yesTraffic, Volume 27, Issue 3, September 2026.
Distinct clathrin‐independent endocytic (CIE) routes support specialized cellular functions across different contexts. Created with Biorender.com. ABSTRACT Clathrin‐independent endocytosis (CIE) comprises a diverse repertoire of internalization mechanisms that operate in parallel with clathrin‐mediated endocytosis.

Production and Purification of Simian Vacuolating Virus40 virus-like particles

open access: yes四川大学学报. 自然科学版, 2016
Simian virus 40 (SV40) is a member of the Polyomaviridae family .Express the structural protein VP1 of SV40 in Bac-to-Bac baculovirus expression system. The expressed protein will be self-assembled to SV40 virus-like particles (SV40 VLPs).

Co-Transfected SV40 Origin of Replication Activates Expression from SV40 Promoterless Constructs

open access: yesBioTechniques, 1999
Co-transfection with expression plasmids is widely used to control DNA uptake efficiency in transient transfection experiments. However, a number of problems have been associated with their use.

Actinomycin Derivatives: Structural Diversification and Biological Activities

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 15, 14 August 2026.
Actinomycins are chromopeptide antibiotics exhibiting remarkable structural diversity and broad bioactivity. This review traces their development from naturally occurring D‐, X‐, A‐, G‐, Y‐, and Z‐type analogs to precursor‐directed, synthetic, and semisynthetic derivatives.

Impact of Cistron Topology and Bicistronic Vector Design in the piggyBac Transposon System for Improved Antibody Expression

open access: yesBiotechnology Journal, Volume 21, Issue 8, August 2026.
Graphical Abstract and Lay Summary In this study, we systematically evaluated bicistronic vector designs within the piggyBac transposon system and identified that dual CMV promoters driving a Light chain‐GS‐Heavy chain configuration deliver optimal monoclonal antibody productivity.

Lymphoproliferative disorders in Costa Rica and simian virus 40

open access: yesHaematologica, 2005
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES. Simian virus 40 (SV40) is an oncogenic DNA virus implicated in some human malignancies, including lymphomas. In the present masked case-control study, we investigated the prevalence of SV40 sequences and the expression of the ...
