Centering Care in Transformative Climate Change Education: A Theoretical Framework for Communal Learning Ecosystems

open access: yesScience Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Research‐practice partnerships addressing climate change education face challenges navigating political resistance, epistemic tensions, and systemic inequities within schools and communities. Recent scholarship has outlined transformative climate change education (TCCE) as requiring the simultaneous transformation of curricula, pedagogies, and

Evaluation of Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) Algorithms

open access: yes, 2021
Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) is a core component for the successful implementation of most autonomous robotics systems such as unmanned ground and areal vehicles and industrial mobile robots. It is crucial to have a robust localization and mapping system if the robot’s navigation depends on it while navigating through an unknown ...

Single‐Particle Characterization Reveals Heterogeneous Extracellular Vesicle Fusion with Liposomes

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
This study used five orthogonal single‐particle techniques to compare how common mechanical methods fuse extracellular vesicles with liposomes. By quantifying fused‐particle yield, purity, and vesicle integrity, we found that freeze‐thaw and sonication generated the highest fusion but that all methods introduced membrane perturbation or damage.

A Spectral Learning Approach to Range-Only SLAM [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present a novel spectral learning algorithm for simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) from range data with known correspondences. This algorithm is an instance of a general spectral system identification framework, from which it inherits ...

Chinese Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Surgical Treatment of Adult Obstructive Sleep Apnea (2024)

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common chronic disorder characterized by abnormal breathing during sleeping. OSA can damage various organs throughout the body and is burdensome, both socially and economically. Moreover, as OSA has been increasingly studied in recent years, new evidence‐based guidelines for its diagnosis and surgical ...

Multirobot C-SLAM: Simultaneous localization, control, and mapping

open access: yes, 2005
This paper is about closing the low level control loop during Multirobot Simultaneous Localization and Map Building from an estimation-control theoretic viewpoint. We present a multi-vehicle control strategy that uses the state estimates generated from the SLAM algorithm as input to a multi-vehicle controller.

UNO: Unified Self‐Supervised Monocular Odometry for Platform‐Agnostic Deployment

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This work presents UNO, a unified monocular visual odometry framework that enables robust and adaptable pose estimation across diverse environments, platforms and motion patterns. Unlike traditional methods that rely on deployment‐specific tuning or predefined motion priors, our approach generalises effectively across a wide range of real ...
