Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Single Event Multiple Transient Analysis using Satisfiability Modulo Theories

open access: yes, 2019
Due to the radioactive nature of the space environment, the integrated circuits in space suffer from reliability problems. This threat is due to the presence of high energy ionizing particles like cosmic ray neutrons and their interaction with the ...

Single event transient reliability analysis on a fault-tolerant RISC-V microprocessor design

open access: yes
The miniaturization of electronic devices and the improved operating speeds increase the likelihood of single event faults. Differently from Single Event Upset (SEU) faults, Single Event Transient (SET) faults generally affect combinational logic, making

Coordinated ground-based, low altitude satellite and Cluster observations on global and local scales during a transient post-noon sector excursion of the magnetospheric cusp [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
On 14 January 2001, the four Cluster spacecraft passed through the northern magnetospheric mantle in close conjunction to the EISCAT Svalbard Radar (ESR) and approached the post-noon dayside magnetopause over Greenland between 13:00 and 14:00 UT.

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Human motor cortical beta bursts relate to movement planning and response errors.

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2019
Motor cortical beta activity (13-30 Hz) is a hallmark signature of healthy and pathological movement, but its behavioural relevance remains unclear.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Position dependent measurement of single event transient voltage pulse shapes under heavy ion irradiation

open access: yes, 2012
A CMOS inverter in 90 nm CMOS bulk technology was exposed to heavy ion radiation (Au-197) at a micro-beam facility. The targeted inverter occupies an area of 6×3 µm².

The attentional blink reveals serial working memory encoding: Evidence from virtual and human event-related potentials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Observers often miss a second target (T2) if it follows an identified first target item (T1) within half a second in rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP), a finding termed the attentional blink.
