An Evaluation of The Host Response to An Interspinous Process Device Based on A Series of Spine Explants: Device for Intervertebral Assisted Motion (DIAM®) [PDF]
Background: The objective of this study was to evaluate the host response to an interspinous process device [Device for Intervertebral Assisted Motion (DIAM®)] based on a series of nine spine explants with a mean post-operative explant time of 35 months.

Abstract Background Schwann cells provide peripheral nerve trophic support, myelinate axons, and assist in repair. However, Schwann cell repair capacity is limited by chronic injury, disease, and aging. Schwann cell reprogramming is a cellular conversion strategy that could provide a renewable cell supply to repair injured nerves.

Lychee starch coatings enriched with procyanidins showed strong antifungal activity and effectively preserved strawberry quality postharvest, reducing weight loss, decay, and senescence. This highlights their potential as a sustainable natural alternative for shelf‐life extension and fungal control in fresh produce.

Thermal regulation of dendritic cell activation and migration from skin explants
Dendritic cells (DCs) in the skin rapidly take up antigen and migrate out of the skin to draining lymph nodes for antigen presentation. As a result, these cells play an important role in generating specific immune responses against infectious agents that enter the skin and against antigens delivered as vaccines.

Roles of TGFβ and FGF signals during growth and differentiation of mouse lens epithelial cell in vitro. [PDF]
Transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) and fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling pathways play important roles in the proliferation and differentiation of lens epithelial cells (LECs) during development.

Sox10+ adult stem cells contribute to biomaterial encapsulation and microvascularization. [PDF]
Implanted biomaterials and biomedical devices generally induce foreign body reaction and end up with encapsulation by a dense avascular fibrous layer enriched in extracellular matrix.
