A practical synthesis of the 13C/15N-labelled tripeptide N-formyl-Met-Leu-Phe, useful as a reference in solid-state NMR spectroscopy

open access: yes, 2008
A mild synthetic method for N-formyl-Met-Leu-Phe-OH (1) is described. After Fmoc solid phase peptide synthesis, on-bead formylation and HPLC purification, more than 30 mg of the fully 13C/15N-labelled tripeptide 1 could be isolated in a typical batch ...

An overview of recent progress in modern synthetic approach—combinatorial synthesis

open access: yesBeni-Suef University Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences, 2020
Background In recent times, a powerful tool of combinatorial synthesis has been used for the preparation of large chemical entities through a small set up of reactions between different building blocks using solid-phase and solution-phase techniques ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Mechanochemical synthesis of AlCoCrFeNi powders via high-energy ball milling

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Физика сериясы, 2023
AlCoCrFeNi powders in equimolar ratios were synthesized by mechanochemical synthesis on a high-energy ball milling machine (HEBM). The elemental and phase composition of AlCoCrFeNi powders before and after mechanochemical synthesis were investigated by ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Solid-Phase-Based Total Synthesis and Stereochemical Assignment of the Cryptic Natural Product Aurantizolicin

open access: yes, 2019
The total synthesis and stereochemical assignment of the polyazole cyclopeptide aurantizolicin was achieved by connecting the solution synthesis of building blocks with solid-phase peptide synthesis.

Green and Sustainable Solvents for Solid-Phase Peptoid Synthesis

open access: yes, 2023
Peptoids are a class of sequence-controlled polymers that provide a versatile platform for the design of bioinspired materials. Solid-phase synthetic methods offer absolute control over the polypeptoid sequence and have been optimized to improve ...
