Meningiomas arise from the meningeal layers covering the central nervous system structures. Although most are benign, meningiomas can still cause neurological morbidity due to the mass effect and compression of the surrounding parenchyma.

Somatostatin Receptor 2–Targeting Compounds [PDF]
The molecular imaging and treatment of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) with radiolabeled somatostatin analogs represent a milestone in the development of theranostic compounds. Whole-body scintigraphy with 111In-pentetreotide has revolutionized the diagnosis and staging of NETs and the evaluation of treatment outcomes. At present, diagnostic accuracy with

ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Postoperative complications following pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) remain high, particularly in patients with soft pancreatic texture. Abdominal aortic calcification volume (AACV), a surrogate marker of systemic arteriosclerosis, has been associated with increased surgical risk in lower gastrointestinal procedures ...

Somatostatin and Somatostatin Receptors in Tumour Biology
Somatostatin (SST), a growth hormone inhibitory peptide, is expressed in endocrine and non-endocrine tissues, immune cells and the central nervous system (CNS). Post-release from secretory or immune cells, the first most appreciated role that SST exhibits is the antiproliferative effect in target tissue that served as a potential therapeutic ...

Adropin is related to the energy homeostasis‐associated gene. It significantly increased glutathione reductase enzyme levels in the pancreas of experimental diabetic rats. Adropin may reduce the severity of diabetes and its complications. Cell proliferation in the exocrine is reduced after the administration of adropin.

The cumulative effect of EA analgesia is partially attributed to the activation of EA‐TRAPed cells in ACC. Multiple EA sessions and single EA sessions activated different neuronal populations in the ACC. The enhanced analgesic effect of multiple EA sessions may be attributed to an increase in the proportion of GABAergic neurons within the ACC. Abstract

Somatostatin receptor imaging. the presence of somatostatin receptors in rheumatoid arthritis [PDF]
AbstractObjective. To investigate the in vivo and in vitro expression of somatostatin receptors (SS‐R) on synovial membranes of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA).Methods. The joints of 14 consecutive patients with active RA, 4 patients with severe osteoarthritis (OA), and 30 control patients were studied.
