Triazine‐Trione Thermosets with High Processability for Scaffold Applications in Bone Tissue Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Novel photo‐clickable triazine‐trione thermosets can be shaped and cured under mild conditions, including room and physiological temperatures. These materials are biocompatible and support osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells on their surface.

Early onset of APC/C activity renders SAC inefficient in mouse embryos

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology
Control mechanisms of spindle assembly and chromosome segregation are vital for preventing aneuploidy during cell division. The mammalian germ cells and embryos are prone to chromosome segregation errors, and the resulting aneuploidy is a major cause of ...

Suppression of period doubling chetter in high-speed milling by spindle speed variation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Spindle speed variation is a well known technique to suppress regenerative machine tool vibra- tions, but it is usually considered to be effective only for low spindle speeds.

Sleep spindle detection: crowdsourcing and evaluating performance of experts, non-experts, and automated methods

open access: yesNature Methods, 2014
Sleep spindles are discrete, intermittent patterns of brain activity observed in human electroencephalographic data. Increasingly, these oscillations are of biological and clinical interest because of their role in development, learning and neurological ...

Bio‐Inspired Artificial Muscle‐Tendon Complex of Liquid Crystal Elastomer for Bidirectional Afferent‐Efferent Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The Muscle–tendon complex (MTC)‐inspired Liquid crystal elastomer (LCE) artificial muscle integrates actuation (efferent) and proprioceptive sensing (afferent) by combining contractile nematic and elastic isotropic LCEs within a single soft structure. Embedded liquid metal channels enable simultaneous Joule heating and real‐time sensing of length and ...

Exportins can inhibit major mitotic assembly events in vitro: membrane fusion, nuclear pore formation, and spindle assembly

open access: yesNucleus, 2020
Xenopus egg extracts are a powerful in vitro tool for studying complex biological processes, including nuclear reconstitution, nuclear membrane and pore assembly, and spindle assembly.

Method of tracing contour patterns for use in making gradual contour resin matrix composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
The invention relates to methods for making alminate patterns for a resin matrix composite structural component. A sheet of paper is temporarily adhered to a model of the structrual component.

Mitotic spindle scaling during Xenopus development by kif2a and importin α. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Early development of many animals is characterized by rapid cleavages that dramatically decrease cell size, but how the mitotic spindle adapts to changing cell dimensions is not understood.

`Spindles' in symmetric spaces [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Mathematical Society of Japan, 2006
We study families of submanifolds in symmetric spaces of compact type arising as exponential images of s-orbits of variable radii. Special attention is given to the cases where the s-orbits are symmetric.

Biofilm‐Antagonist Ginger‐Based 3D‐Printable Photoresins for Complex Implant Designs Exhibiting Advanced Multifunctional Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work offers unique Ginger‐based 3D‐printable resins that can print customizable high‐resolution complex designs. The customizable printing backbone of Zingerol prints also mimics various human bones' strength. Acquisition of in‐vivo biocompatibility in rat model with no severe inflammatory response, along with in‐vitro antioxidant and ex‐vivo anti‐
